Album price 18 months on....

...I was just browsing Amazon and as I still have not bought CD, and nor will I, my own childish protest, decided to look it up.

And I noticed that you can now buy a copy for 94p.. Now for an album that's not even been out two years this seems an awfully small amount (I was almost tempted) just out of interest I then had a look through other Guns albums (all of which I do own ha) and despite how long the albums have been out they are still more to buy second hand than CD with AFD at £1.50, UYI1 at £4.75 and UYI2 at £3.84 and Lies at £4.44. Sorry I'm all in £'s but I don't do $'s :P

What do you think this says about the success of the album long term, obviously every Guns fan melted and bought it the day it came out, but the fact that it has become so cheap to aquire?

Even to buy brand new its only £3.99, now this is a long awaited, finally here album and it just seems strange to me that within 18months is a knockoff.

What do you think?

What is there to think, really ?

Those who hate the album/band will say that it's 5 bucks because the album sucks and it bombed.

Those who like it will either say that they don't care or that it's pretty common to be able to get a recent album at a cheap price on the internet.

Quality thread you made here...except this very same thread has already been made at least twelve times before.

I think you're feeling pretty good about yourself. The quality of a product (especially music) should not be measured by it's price.

Besides, it's pretty expensive where I live, so maybe it's price varies from country to country...

I think it's worrying that you wont buy an album out of protest, seriously, how sad is that?

Price varies on where you look,

http://hmv.com/hmvweb/simpleMultiSearch.do?searchUID=&pGroupID=0&adultFlag=false&primaryID=0&simpleSearchString=chinese+democracy £8.99

http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/1125209/Chinese-Democracy/Product.html £3.99 here but only because it is one of there deals of the week.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_9_12?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=chinese+democracy&sprefix=chinese+demo The price varies on amazon, you can only get it so cheap because it is likely to be second hand, I hope your not using that and twisting it into some sad way to bash the album.

Yes, it varies from country to country and from 1st hand to 2nd hand

Mh. I just checked the price at the German amazon, it's 7,49 Euros, what would be 10.19$.

Whatever.

More interesting though is the verdict of the people. Over the last 18 month, not less than 342 user reviews were written. Assuming that there are GNR-fanatics and haters at both ends of the spectrum, I think it's sure to say that this database at least gives a little hint of how CD was received in the public. In Germany at least, reviews are written by virtually everyone.

***** 195

**** 44

*** 30

** 23

* 50

This results in a democratic 4-star peoples' rating in Germany. Not so bad, I guess.

Show me where to buy it for .94, brand new.

Oh for gods sake... download the motherfucker already you cheapskate like everybody else in the world does...it was up the day it went out... thats why it didn't hit the sky in sales.

Actually I went to best buy and bought it for 12.95 the day it came out. Listened to it... read the cover art...shrugged and said I waited this fucking long for this??? and then I put through some great speakers and it it grew on me.

I was at my local Best BUY and they had it in a bin of CD's ranging from 5.95 to 13.95 and it was 9.95....and the sign said "great stocking stuffers" and i t.hought..wow a classic album one year old already in the bargain bin. The rest of the albums were full price from the previous era. Best Buy must have taken a stiff one in the brown hole because they had hundreds still in stock.

What do you think?

what do I think?

I think you don't give a fuck what I think.

I think the reason that you don't give a fuck about I think is becuase I think you are a fucking idiot (better report me for using the word idiot....i used to use the word retard, but got in trouble due to the over sensitive).

at least you admit that you can be childish.

sheeesh......

I bet you've listened to premium copies of every song on CD. nice idea.....rip of the artist for a childish protest.

here is a clue........Axl doesn't care.

the current merchandise theories dictate "get the money now...and as much as you can".

I don't mean to rant.........so I'm sorry If I offended anyone or hurt your feelings.

maybe we can still be friends ?
