Snake Eyes
Bit underwhelmed to be honest.. nothing stands out. Hopefully the best is yet to come.Hickory Dicotomy is growing on me though. Edited May 8, 2010 by Snake Eyes
ITW 2012
I think this song is going to be good.
Towelie
I'm a very big fan of Stone Temple Pilots. I've been following the band for years. As far as musicianship and songwriting skills go, I believe this band to be one of the greatest American Rock N' Roll bands of the 1990s. Yet, I will not lie. The songs that I've heard so far from their new self-titled album have not impressed me at all. I sincerely hope I am wrong in the hope that the album will captivate me in the same way that previous STP albums have seduced me (so to speak).I just feel...underwhelmed...Sometimes you need to hear the songs in the context of a whole album to really get where they are going... appetite4illusions
I think this song is going to be good. It's is. Huckleberry CrumbleThe live version sounds like Roadhouse Blues, can't say that really holds true for the studio.
Syk
I'm really digging this one. Hickory Dichotomy wasn't terrible, Bagman wasn't really my thing, and Between The Lines was awesome until it got overplayed. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the album. appetite4illusions
Take A Load OffMy favorite so far off the new album. It's shaping up to be a pretty melodic album, even if it's lite on the grunge this time around.

appetite4illusions
That's true, but even No. 4 had Down and Shangri-La had Dumb Love. Doesn't look like there's anything resembling a harder grunge song in this album's playlist. Take A Load Off is better than anything Libertad had to offer. I'll for sure be playing this tune on the highway...
nugdafied
If I didn't already know 'Between The Lines' was STP, I would have guessed it was a new Tom Petty song.
Estranged Reality
Having listened once, I think it's a solid enough album, but not all of the songs are as accessible/immediate as STP is generally known for. Recalls more of their later, "experimental" stuff rather than the early singles they were always pumping out. Weiland sounds like he's doing more of a Bowie/'70s rock thing...I'll need to listen again before I make a judgment. I think the one thing I definitely don't like is the production. Dead Flower
Take A Load Off is better than anything Libertad had to offer.Like a lot of songs from Libertad, it suffers from having a shit and repetitive chorus. The other songs are better, imo. bt88
Am I the only one who likes these songs? Bagman isnt that great but BTL is good and Huckleberry Crumble rocks. No one else is digging this sort of bluesy stuff Deleo is doing on the guitar? Just got the full leak. Ill get back to you on what I think when Im done with it Edited May 19, 2010 by bt88

There's a New Zealand radio station streaming the album and someone must have ripped it. The songs are killer! Just exploding with creativity everywhere
bt88
For those of you worried about the lack of heaviness see if you can find a song called "Hazy Daze" track 7 on the new disk. The verses are at least pretty heavy and it's rockin. Very impressed.

ColdHeartBreaker
" Take a risk and listen to the radio, click your heels at the bi-polar disco. " First Kiss on MarsI really like this song, lol. Insanely catchy. Cinnamon is indeed very likable. Enjoyed Take a Load Off, but I need to listen to the more harder songs some more. Turn_It_Up
Just not feelin' any of these tunes at all. Army of Anyone's album better than what I've heard so far... Edited May 19, 2010 by Turn_It_Up
appetite4illusions
All in all, it's probably my least favorite Pilots album, but I think it's great for a comeback. I don't imagine even the best songs will have the longevity of Tiny Music or Purple for me, but I'll be playing this album all summer.
