Naltav
My favourite band at the moment! There's been a lot of hype in Norway the past couple of years about this band. The hail from my hometown of Stavanger.Their debut album is due out this summer. Recorded in Boston (US), produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge). Norway's (only) musicshow on TV got to send one band to perform at this years Reading festival, Kvelertak got picked!Check out their first musicvideo: Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kvelertak/58323625684?ref=tsMyspace: http://www.myspace.com/kvelertakTwitter: @Kvelertak
Lithium
There's been a lot of hype in Norway the past couple of years about this band. No, there haven't. The only things I've heard about them have been in association to Urørt. And please make it a little less obvious that you're somehow associated with the band - you sound like a commercial, dude. And please make it a little less obvious that you're somehow associated with the band - you sound like a commercial, dude. What a douchy response, man!! Lydverket (radio- and TV-show) and Pyro have hyped them A LOT.The media have said that they're one of the few bands to check out in 2010. They played Roskilde and Øya-festivalen last year. Played a ton of gigs all over Norway. Played the Eurosonic festival in the Netherlands. They were the talk of the town during the annual By:larm in Oslo. They won the contest on Lydverket where the winning band will play the Reading festival(!) They will play on this years Hove Festivalen.Regardless if I'm associated with band or not, there've been a shitload of hype about this band. If you live in Norway and are above average into rock/metal, you prolly heard of them. Even you had! That's hype dude! Even the cover art on their forthcoming debut album created headlines: http://www.nrk.no/lydverket/hvor-kommer-dette-lekre-coveret-fra/
Lithium
They're probably big in the metal-scene, but I was speaking in general terms. The only reason I've heard about them is because I check Urørt from time to time. Playing a lot of concerts doesn't exactly make a band hyped. iftheworld
Not even lose to being good. The music video was sub-par and outdated with the same theme bands have used before where kids mosh around them. To me they are not hyped they're about 10 years behind.EXAMPLE Kids moshing around that band, and that band is 10xs better. bt88
Metalsucks.net is pretty high on them, so yes they have some relevance in the metal scene. If it wasnt for the vocals Im not even sure you could consider them metal. But its no wonder Kurt from Converge is producing their album. Im sure it will be at least worth a listen if hes involved. P.A. Guns
Not my cup of tea...then again, there aren't a whole lot of bands from Norway I really like.
bt88
Just got the leak of this album. Holy shit it kicks ass. Its catchy rock metal. The vocals are almost black metal-ish yet somehow they maintain some good hooks. I highly reccomend this album
Scaramouche
I'm not very big fan of norwegian bands singing in norwegian. English please. My latest added norwegian (and american) band is Saivu, after I found out Richard is playing on it. Wish I could see them at Midnattsrocken.
