HisRoyalSweetness Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) everyone loves a triumphant third act. busting up a ticketmaster / live nation monopoly could be the only thing awesome enough to redeem axl in most the world's eyes. i hope he wins. it would be pretty cool if axl was on top again. SLCPUNK Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Mainstream will never love Axl, they never have. Even back in the day everybody hated him.
ThinkAboutYou Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 His not going to bring down ticketmaster over this
Jackie Moon Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 he should have saved shacklers revenge for post-azoff.
Guest gunns5 Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 or dedicate Silkworms to it ^^'Listen motherfucker to this song that should be heard, right down in the gutter thats more than you deserve'
Ed Vega Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Axl is incredibly prolific when it comes to lawsuits.
bax Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 let's not forget,Pearl Jam couldn't do it it at the peak of their popularity.it would be cool as fuck, and would score some cred but this is no saving grace.
bax Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Axl is to ticketmaster as Lars is to Napsteractually-yeah.
tat2d1 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Axl won't be bringing down Ticketbastard any time soon.
M&S Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Axl won't be bringing down Ticketbastard any time soon.Actually this case may turn some eyes on the operations and mistreatment of Artists by Azoff, could easily cause him some problems with the guidelines the DOJ set forth for him to follow,if he has not abided by the conditions, this can be a juggernaut to set forth a probe into Ticketmaster/Live Nation practices.
dalsh327 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 The only way musicians can put Ticketmaster out of business is if they all boycotted venues that Ticketmaster and Live Nation have dealings with and people decided to do something else with their money. You have any idea how many people would be out of work? Take a look at what happened in Arizona in recent months when conventions pulled their reservations and rock bands have intentionally bypassed playing Phoenix. Collectively it could happen, but they'd be shooting themselves in the foot and losing millions for the sake of integrity. The best they can do is keep ticket prices moderate, or do the occasional "corporate" gig. GNR's made some nice money just doing the 2 or 3 private shows in the US this year, which helps buffer the losses on the shows they cancelled on. Axl's going to trial for a handful of shows that will be handled out of court by McGhee, and we're prob. going to see a KISS/GNR double bill if odds are against Axl. It's going to be handled over lunch and settled in an hour. The biggest thing they're going to argue over is who's paying for lunch.... answer: Axl.
Naupis Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Actually this case may turn some eyes on the operations and mistreatment of Artists by Azoff, could easily cause him some problems with the guidelines the DOJ set forth for him to follow,if he has not abided by the conditions, this can be a juggernaut to set forth a probe into Ticketmaster/Live Nation practices. This is the good ole US of A we are talking about. Our politicians are bought and paid for by big corporations, and the Justice Department could give 2 shits about what Ticketmaster is doing. They pretended to lay down guidelines at the time the merger was passed just to tone down the up-roar, but you are awfully naive to think they are ever going to open up any investigations against Ticketmaster. They have yet to prosecute anyone from Wallstreet and all they did was steal billions of dollars from our citizens and bring down the world economy, Azoff screwing around with Axl is of zero concern to them. As long as Azoff keeps campaign donations coming he is free to do as he chooses.
wasted Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 this lawsuit is a great way to promote CD. If they could get some of the footage on to a Sorry vid.
