Nobodys_Fault Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Was going to make a thread about this a while ago.Easily the best rap album of the year so far."Stay sharp as broken glass, get busted on a smash/ When your ass cross paths with this half of the 'Kast." Quote
Forsaken Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Listened to it awhile back, it's pretty solid. Tangerine and The Train pt 2 are my fav tracks. Quote
Estranged Reality Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Definitely going to be on lots of year-end best-of lists. Quote
LightningBolt Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 (edited) I've got a general question about hip hop, why does it seem all of the albums are really long? I personally prefer nice, short 35-45 minute albums since they seem to be the ones with least amounts of filler, but mostly all of the hip hop albums I've listened to are quite a bit longer and have a few filler songs usually. Look at this one. Look at like every Eminem album. Public Enemy's It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. The Blueprint and The Blueprint 2. All of OutKast's albums. N.W.A.'s second studio album. I feel like most of these albums would've benefitted with a few cut tracks. It's really the reason why Illmatic is like the perfect hip hop album for me. All killer, no filler.EDIT: I like pretty much every album I listed, by the way, but just a problem with me for all of them. Edited August 1, 2010 by LightningBolt Quote
coolio GNR Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Rap is just not my thing. There are some good songs here and there, but that is it. Quote
metatron Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I thought this was going to be a sunny diss thread. Anyways, that album truly is remarkable. Big Boi's best work ever, whether it be solo or with outkast. Quote
Forsaken Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 , whether it be solo or with outkast.....nah Quote
Guest deleted_19765 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 It is really good. I love "Shine Blockas". Quote
inthisriver Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 God, I was shit faced when I made this thread. Listening again, it's only been out a few months and I almost forgot how good it was.shine blockasfo yo sorrowsshutterbugand daddy fat sax... are probably my favorites. Solid album all the way through, which is pretty rare for me to feel that way when I listen to hip hop. My only complaint are the tacky interludes and sketches, lol. Quote
Shuffle Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Great album. I prefer The Roots' How I Got Over in the "best hip-hop album of 2010" contest but this is really good...so many great tracks. Quote
