In 2k5 you could make your own in game soundtracks. Like, if you got an INT, you could make the first 10 seconds of Sad But True play. If you got a sack, you could have Creeping Death play over the PA. I always set WTTJ as my opening kick off music. It was awesome.

2k5, with T.O. on the cover was the best football game ever(besides tecmo bowl!) Besides jungle though, last years music was way better. 2Pac, Alice in Chains, Kid Rock, Pantera, Public Enemy, Nirvana. etc.

Madden is so terrible, I havent bought one of their games since 02. They figure out that they cant make the best football game so they instead put the competition out of business with exclusive contracts. And that soundtrack is pretty terrible.

How on earth is THAT the greatest game soundtrack ever. For the most part - its shit.

They are going for the "full stadium experience."

Alot of those tracks are the exact same songs you hear at most sporting events.

The madden games are pretty good; And that last part has more to due with the NFL than EA. The NFL is a monoply, about a month or two ago, the supreme court handed out a ruling that may end that.

Check out NFL vs. American Needle. Or The NFL Network's vs. Time Warner's dispute (this is really interesting), or the NFL/ESPN's vs BrightHouse.

Interesting stuff, if you're into that type of thing. It doesn't get much press but alot of companys are starting to go after the NBA, NFL, and MLB with regards to antitrust violations (being a monoply).

And they are winning.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a senator (i forget his name) introduced a bill that would end Baseball's Antitrust Exemption.....which would change the game and sports in general.

Yeah but, 2k did it SIX YEARS ago lol. That's the problem with Madden. I personally can't wait for the exclusive license BS to end so we can get NFL gaming to return to it's former glory.

2k5 is a lot better than Madden 11, and I can say that confidently without even playing it yet.

2K5 is the greatest football game of all time for the orignal XBOX. Tecmo Bowl and Super Tecmo Bowl were out before I was born, but Ive played them and theyre pretty fun just to run the shit out of people Barry, Bo, Thurman, and Okoye. Trust me, Ive had a madden game on all three next gen consoles, and they are just the same thing every year. If you want a good football game get NCAA this year, its up there with 2K5 and All Pro Football 2k8.

I always thought that if you took the best from ESPN 2K5 (sportscenter highlights, weekly preparations, ect) and took Madden's overall gameplay it would be the alpha and omega of all football games.

Although I liked to see EA go back and update their previous games. Imagine Madden 94 with updated graphics and modern gameplay! The 49ers and Cowboys would be monsters in that game. Oh and you would have to have Madden and Summerall doing the commentary.
