Axl is realy underrated in that list... people think he only yells to the mic but he sings is ass off every night they play.

And Tyler should be like 20... Axl 10 .

Steven Tyler is a better vocalist than Axl.

Especially nowadays.. I saw Tyler live a few weeks ago and he was really amazing.

What the hell was the criteria they used when putting this list together? Bob Dylan at number 7 in a list of greatest singers of all time? Michael Jackson 14 places behind Paul McCartney? :rofl-lol:

:rolleyes: Some very overrated people up there and some underrated ones that didn't even make it to the list (Layne Staley, James Hetfield just to name a few).

Anyways, this is just their opinion, and, afterall, personal tastes are like asses: everyone should mind their own... too bad RS didn't wipe theirs. :tongue2:

Harriet Wheeler owns everyone on this list.

With that said, it's not a bad list. Some pretty good artists on here.

I can see how you can make a case for Axl being higher, but it isn't like there are a bunch "chic" picks ahead of him.

I mean seriously, would you put Axl ahead of Aretha?

Bob Dylan in the top 10 kills the credibility of this list alone... but its cool to see that Axl is in there as he well deserves to be, he should be top 30 AT LEAST

Yeah, I know that some people wouldn't put James in the list, but I did because everytime I hear the word "heavy/trash metal" he is the first singer that comes to my mind. Just my opinion though. ;)

i wouldn't say that.

I think one of the things that makes a great singer is knowing how to use your voice. writing tunes or singing songs, that go along with it.

Dylan has been good at that, and so has Axl.

Honestly, I don't really like Axl's voice, but it works so right on certain songs. I would probaly pull my hair out, if I had to listen to him sing a cover of Amazing Grace.

Dylan isn't really a singer though, he's much more of a poet. I just think its unfair to list him among singers who have gone to great lengths to fine tune their vocal chords while Dylan barely even try's because he doesn't give a shit. I admire his talent, but his talent isn't his voice and it never has been. The great thing about Dylan is he manages to get his message across without being extravagant or of the norm when it comes to being a vocalist, he's just himself and thats what I think speaks to people about Bob Dylan, not his "talented singing voice". Bono is missing the point in his cute little article, fucking idiot
