dol_fan_1313 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Axl is realy underrated in that list... people think he only yells to the mic but he sings is ass off every night they play. And Tyler should be like 20... Axl 10 .Steven Tyler is a better vocalist than Axl.Especially nowadays.. I saw Tyler live a few weeks ago and he was really amazing.I agree Steven Tyler was really amazing. I was at the tampa show lastnight. He should be at least in the teens on this list. Axl has pissed me off as of late. Axl should study Steven Tyler to learn how to treat his fans.
bloodyhell1 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 no list can truely be accurate is its based on others opinions, more interesting to see forum users list and where axl stands. axl would be in my top 10 but freddy mercury would be no 1
GeorgeGlass Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Some very overrated people up there and some underrated ones that didn't even make it to the list (Layne Staley, James Hetfield just to name a few). Anyways, this is just their opinion, and, afterall, personal tastes are like asses: everyone should mind their own... too bad RS didn't wipe theirs. Layne Staley, James Hetfield though? C'mon I like Metallica but he doesn't belong anywhere near a greatest singer list-AHHDepends on the criteria...on pure vocal talent, Axl, Het and Layne all do NOT belong there, whereas Freddie Mercury and Paul Rodgers would. The list would again be different if it were combined with stage presence, at which point Axl would be at or near the top. I've still yet to see a real front man who put in as much energy during a 2 hour show as Axl did during the UYI days.
Maestro Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Although I am more a GNR fan, Freddie Mercury is godlike to 99% of the singers on this list.
maXx Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 what makes a singer, really is the question. are they talking about personal appeal.. technical perfection, soul, charisma, popular opinion, what? Personally I would keep Bob, and add Axl closer to the top cause he feels his songs- and that's what makes a good singer to me. Like Steve Tyler, and Eddie Vedder, and Janis (who wasn't technically perfect either.) Who said Kurt could sing, another feeler in my books. As for Mariah and Freddy- well they can sing, they know how to use their chords.
