dalsh327
"Freebird" by Skynyrd originally wasn't intended to be a tribute to Duane, but after he died, they added the "tweet" in. He was the ace session guitarist of Muscle Shoals, contributing to Aretha, Otis Rush, Clarence Carter, Wilson Pickett. And he did NOT hit into a peach truck. But you can figure out what "Eat a Peach" is after a few minutes. In Keith Richards' "Life", he said that there's a line Mick kind of mumbles out that mentions Skydog in "Brown Sugar". Keith said the "scarred old slaver know he's doin all right" was supposed to be "Skydog...something something" but if I find it again, I'll reedit it. (Skydog was Duane's nickname) Edited October 29, 2010 by dalsh327

axlslash
The slide solo on Clapton's Layla is one of my favorite musical passages. RIP Duane.
