AbominableHoman
when it was his company and his game giving GNR priceless exposure to the younger generation?!? Plus the Slash avatar incorporated within the game and in the “Jungle” section further promotes the inaccurate notion that Slash is still a member of Guns N' Roses. Which he is not. Well according to some the "experts" on this board, GNR is as popular as its ever been, and everybody knows Slash isn't in the band.In fact, according to some, when people think of GNR these days, they think Ashbaland or KFC Double Down's. "Oh most people don't know Slash is not in the band".First, that's not truthAre you sure? Because CD sold a Gazillion copies, GNR has 5 million friends on Facebook, the tour made bookoo dolllars and everybody and their mother attended. I think people know whose in the band, man.No they don't. I think that alteast 50% of the people who go to a GN'R show can't tell you more than 2 names of the bandmembers. Do you really think that people would think 'ow that's the guitar player of GN'R' when they saw Ashba when he played the national anthem?50%? You're exagerating, maybe a few can't name two bandmembers, really, a few.I'm sorry, but Guns N' Roses today is far more popular than you like to think they are.So which one is it man... Either people know whose in band and that it doesn't include Slash or they don't.You can't have both ways.People know whose in band and that it doesn't include Slash. That's what I've always said. That simply isn't true, that "fact" is total inconsequential to me and you're kidding yourself if you think the casual listener definitely knows the difference. pomponio
I don't usually post here, I rather just just read all the nonsense around and laugh my ass off, but this just went out of proportion. GUNS N' ROSES was succesfull due to the contribution of all of his members!!!, They all have the right to do whatever the fuck they want with "their own" music. AXL's attitude just shows how twisted his mind is. He wouldn't be here without SLASH's contributions, as SLASH wound't be here without AXL's. Now MR. ROSE wants to erase SLASH from any association with G n'R. Well, I got news for you AX, Slash is Guns n' Roses!! He will always be known as GN'R's guitar player, no matter how much effort you put against it. We, the people, see it that way. There's nothing you can do to change that. AXL is an amazing "performer" but he appears to be a sad human being If this wasn't your call Ax, if it was your stupid lawyers creating this nonsene, you have the right to speak up and let the world know that you are not just a jealous freak full of hate and envy. Now, if this was you, then i turn my back to you, as many of your former fans have throughout this years. I will not buy any of your records, I will not attend to any of your shows, I will not support any of your adventures and I will no longer expect a "Guns n' Reunion" since I don't think you deserve to enjoy the succes that "the rest of the guys" would give you. Musicians are not only ICONS, they are normal people as well, and i would never keep contributing to give success to a person like you, no matter how well you can sing or how "cool" your songs are. AXL, This whole adventure wansn't about you!!! it was about ALL OF YOU making it happen. Welcome to the jungle's intro, main Riff and solo are a huge part of what made that song relevant to the world, of course, your lyrics and singing were amazing, but SLASH's part made YOU shine, and without it i dont think we would be talking about this in 2010. Isn't that reason you took almost 20 years trying to find the right replacement? (i don't think you found it either). I'm sorry man, but i'm just speaking for all those silent voices that don't have the balls to say what they think or maybe just don't care anymore. And of course we'll always hear biased replies, like Gunsguy trying to convince us that this is only a "legal matter", BS! this is AXL ROSE trying to bury SLASH's legacy. AX, you just showed us your true colors. Am i wrong?? defend yourself then.
Lose Your Illusions
Activision didnt follow their contract and Axl is taking them to court for it. AX, you just showed us your true colors. Am i wrong?? defend yourself then.Say what you may but remember SLASH signed over the name to Axl for Axl to use it as he sees fit, he has that right! I just don't get the whole thing some claim I mean if you owned something and then a 3rd party tried to make $ of your name by way of an old ex business partner everyone would be ok with that? How is Axl or the new band supposed to continue like that? I get that some of you want something that you can't have but saying that Axl is wrong in this is crazy you have to see the black and white issue here.Like it or not Axl owns this band and has every right to defend against people that want to portray it in a certain light, is it perfect? Fuck no! Of course not, what is? Having said that it is his thing and he decides what happens to it, not me, not you and certainly not a game maker! Guest
Whether Guitar Hero were in breach of contract for connecting Slash and VR to Welcome to the Jungle I neither know or care. I just feel this whole situation is pretty pathetic from Axl to be honest. Slash was a part of Guns N' Roses, at a time when GNR were at their peak. He had a huge hand in making them as famous as they were and in creating the song Welcome to the Jungle. I don't see what is such the big deal with Slash being tied to WTTJ on Guitar Hero. Oh yeah I forgot because "Slash ain't in Guns no more so its misrepresenting the public". You know what, if you had actually promoted your damn fucking album, got your face on TV and done a few interviews, released some videos and perhaps even got your band to perform on a few mainstream chat shows people might actually know who the fuck Bumblefoot and the other Guns N' Roses members are. Instead he's behaving like petulant little baby suing anybody who misrepresents the name GNR and probably more importantly is continuing on with this pathetic personal vendetta with Slash. Ask yourself this, d'you think Axl would have cared so much about this whole issue if it was Izzy that had been tied to the GNR name?Y'know if anybody is misrepresenting the GNR name it's Axl by not getting him and his band out there so people know their faces. After 3 world tours, it's amazing that you still find average concert goers who expect to see the original band up there. Now that's real misrepresentation imo. Jackie Moon
"On February 14, 2010, Guns N' Roses played a Valentine's Day show at the Rose Bar at Gramercy Park in New York City. Tim Riley from Activision was in attendance and approached Rose after the show. In tears he apologized for the way in which Rose and Guns N' Roses had been mistreated by Activision. He said "I can't sleep at night" and asked Rose to forgive him."?????????!!!!!!!in tears huh? can't sleep? when it was his company and his game giving GNR priceless exposure to the younger generation?!?I know right and doesn't this "story" sound a little familiar? In October of 2005 Slash made an unannounced 5:30 AM visit to Axl Rose's house....."both are presented as highly dramatic. everything with axl is highly dramatic. sometimes people attract drama and then cry "why is it always me", when really, they create their own shit because its what they thrive on. its their comfort zone.sounds pretty f-in familiar eh. This whole "some people still think Slash is in Guns N' Roses" debate is ridiculous. Whilst not everyone in the world knows, I would be willing to bet that 99.99% at least of people interested enough to go to a GNR concert know.Nobody goes to a Guns show expected to see the Appetite line-up.i agree. I think axl is just paranoid / obsessive re: slash. hurray lawsuits!!!as if I need anything to further reinforce why I think this man is such a delusional idiotic drama queen *facepalm*oh what a shameno matter how wronged he feels, he should have just let it go because of this.Whether Guitar Hero were in breach of contract for connecting Slash and VR to Welcome to the Jungle I neither know or care. shakamaker
A reunion is imminent. Only a matter of time.It is quite clear that Axl is having serious financial troubles. His spending doesnt match the incoming paychecks, with the ongoing legal bills stacking up.Its only a matter of time before Axl will need the $$$. Looking at his need for $20million from Activision, it might come sooner than later.Cheers Axl. I know you are reading this. Lets face it, you could die tomorrow only being remembered as a member of a former top headlining band. Or you could be remembered as a man who put his ego aside to partake in the greatest reunion of all time. Something The Beatles couldnt do.Slash is waiting for your call.... uzeurilluzion
Is this not obvious. The Ax man has been disassociating himself from Slash for so long. Then he gives the game WTTJ with stipulations of not using Slash in association with WTTJ. They flat out lied to him! I'd be fuckin pissed too. Hes no longer in the band! Its actually a very reasonable request. Now if everything was in writing which id assume it was, then they breached. Case closed! It does damage Axl and GNR if Slash is being perceived to still be in the band for numerous reasons......that should be obvious from this forum. 20 mill worth? Not sure but I hope he wins. You know he asked for Slash not to be associated and if Axl has the right to the GNR name/rights then they fucked him!Slash is like his ex gf. The whole thing is a divorce. Of course its personal against Slash. Axl believes Slash has been trying to screw him all these years etc etc no one knows what went on. But to say Ax is paranoid or obsessive is ridiculous.
