wasted
I like the whole of Vs. but is Rearview best song they did? Not one of the big singles but they burning on this track.

WhazUp
Yeah it is one of their best, right up there with Black which has to be one of the best songs they ever did
wasted
I've always prefered Daughter most of Ten. With that song they seemed be writing a classic American rock song. But Rearview just kicks ass beyond the lyrics, just havent heard anything theyve done that rocks harder.
WhazUp
Have you heard Porch? They rock out on that song, especially this version:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7piN4dsj-Gg
wasted
I have, it does. I just love the production on Vs. maybe.

ITW 2012
Indifference has always blown me away but it's not a rocker. Vs. is my favorite PJ album. Breathe and State of Love and Trust are their best rockers, imo. They played those two back to back when I saw them in Vancouver. WhazUp
I really dig Binaural. At first I hated it because I wanted Pearl Jam to make more albums like Ten and Vs. but it really grew on me
wasted
Elderly Woman is good one, it's like something off Physical Graphiti. Edited January 5, 2011 by wasted
ITW 2012
No Code is a pretty cool album. Vitalogy is another great album but it's got some filler or unnecessary tracks on it.
wasted
I didn't get any albums after Vs. It might have been bcos Eddie wasn't doing interviews, I really go in for hype.

As cliché as it may sound, I think Alive is perfect in so many ways. It's always been my personal favourite Pearl Jam song.

Needs more lyricsbut damn it's so hard to make out what he's saying, i've been working on those lyrics for 10 years. i felt like those lyrics on that album were written on napkins in diners for a road movie. that's why i like it so much, how is it cinematic with so little special effects? that record is like a movie. ITW 2012
Eddie tends to mumble. He drinks a lot of red wine. You should check out Vitalogy and No Code. Those are two of their best albums. Red Mosquito off of No Code has always been one of my favorite PJ songs. wasted
I think I heard No Code but never Vitology. Pearl Jam, that blue one, was good record. Is Spin the Black Circle on Vitalogy? Did The Doors movie come out before Vs.? I get the feeling they were listening to LA Woman for that record.

Spin The Black Circle, Better Man and Corduroy are all on Vitalogy. I think it's their second best album. There's no doubt that Ten is great album but I just prefer the songs on Vs., Vitalogy and No Code. Yield is also pretty good but I think it's a step or two down from the first four. Pearl Jam were bigger than Nirvana in North America until Cobain bit it. Edited January 6, 2011 by ITW 2012
wasted
maybe that was part of the reason. He could feel it slipping away. the media had sort of built him up and were starting to turn on him. he didn't seem like much of a fighter. And Pearl Jam quit doing videos after Ten; started doing less interviews; and took on Ticketmaster. They would be as big as U2 if they had marketed themselves better. wasted
Sounds like Axl is a big Eddie Vedder fan, that's almost what he's doing. Unplugged was a masterstroke. PJ don't seem as commercial as U2, every U2 song has clean vocals and silky smooth production. It doesn't help that the bottom has dropped out of the rec industry. Even Bono can't make a pitch. PJ is more of a classic rock sounding band. They are sort of like a grunge Doors. Eddie Vedder is the only rock star but the rest of the guys are still really important as songwriters and players.
