stratus
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYbeyrU5vH8Is this just me or it's still the best Street of Dreams live performance ever back when it was still called The Blues? I mean the first or second (not sure if they did in HoB). I think the shorter intro, faster tempo, Axl being pissed and the aggressive outro made it. Do you guys know of any better (no pun intended) performance of SoD? Please post.

Stro
The HOB is a better performance than Rio. That being said, I really love the 2001/2002 version of the song. The clean high voice worked very well for it. It's probably the only CD song that I regularly listen to from 2001/2002 as often as I do from the album and 2010. I believe the "never mind" was due to something with his ear monitor needing adjusted.
stratus
why does he say ok never mind?I don't think people here knows for sure. It seems to be related to the issue he was having with the monitor. Can you see the guy coming in to fix it during the intro?Axl looks really pissed off and does a very fast movement with his arm kinda like calling the guy to come and fix it fast. Later on in the song he says 'ok, nevermind' and during the solo he leaves the stage. I wonder if the mix was too loud, too low or he couldn't hear himself at all. I remember that Axl said a lot about CD song meaning before playing it and wow it was great. We should really get some videos from that day. jekylhyde
That "ok,never mind" should be in the studio version...the song just isn't the same without it. Edited January 12, 2011 by jekylhyde

Audio of the whole show is floating around on various GNR boards. It was a lot tighter than Rio, but without the spectacle. From listening to both, I feel like HOB is a much better performed show but doesn't quite have the energy of 200,000 people.
destroier
The only better one was Osaka 2002. It starts off with Axl singing fuck yoooouuu. I don't have the video, but here's the audio:http://www.mediafire.com/?e9dw8o2k5ah2sa8

Stro
I imagine 95% or more of the hoarders are full of shit and have no idea what is or isn't floating around. Just a bunch of weirdos who think having a 10 year old show makes them a VIP on an online community devoted to a band that has mostly been under the mainstream radar for nearing 20 years. I'd go so far to say that the "hoarders" are just a handful of people that have been given a mythical status by the GNR community.

LesPaul_Player_91
Crazy to think that it's been ten years since the CD tour started. Would be good if Guns did a tenth anniversary show.

DocBrown
I never liked this song in the early years. It's still not one of my favorites, but I prefer it much more in 2006 and beyond. I really like the way Axl sings it, but I don't really like the song structure all that much. Love the solo though.

The finnal CD mix sounds just wrong. The Blues is possibly the best song feat. Buckethead and Robin. Why re name a song ?
Black Sabbath
This was my favorite "New Gn'R" song when I first heard it like 4 years ago when I was getting into Guns N' Roses. Still love it.

The finnal CD mix sounds just wrong. The Blues is possibly the best song feat. Buckethead and Robin. Why re name a song ?I disagree, the vocals on CD are perfect, he has a lower voice and the mix itself is perfect. Sure those early live versions are good and I'm not sure if SoD vocals were recorded before or after these versions, probably after since he's closer to his 2006 voice, but they match the song better and I think more credible for an album. Those live versions are sung too high, not that I dislike it but I think it's less manly than what we have on the final mix.I also really prefer Axl's take on this song in 2010 live than in 2001/2 (even though that Osaka mix is fucking amazing in its own kind and I'd definitely like a studio alternative version of this version), his voice mixes techniques from the 80's and 90's, it's amazing.
