End of Days Instrumental?

Here is the Oh My God Instrumental and it's not fan made:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q--CyTwt5B0&feature=youtube_gdata

Thanks for bacardimayne and evader.

It's not "fan made"? What do you mean by that? What I meant by "fan made" was that a fan used a program to strip the vocal track off...thus, making it "fan made". Are you saying that Axl released this? Because if a fan took the vocal track of then it is, indeed, fan made.

Whatever it is, it rocks. Are you a fan of Oh My God Nintari?

Hell yeah. The moment I heard it I thought it was great. I remember back on the gnronline forum, Axl made a thread asking all of us what we thought and I was like one of the few that actually said I thought it was cool. He thanked me for having an "open mind" lol. He was taking it so hard up the ass, it wasn't even funny.

I know it was a different direction for the band, but I really don't get why it got so little love when it was released! It's fucking badass.

Well, it's 1999 and no one has heard ANYTHING original from the new band. There were rumors sure, but outside of that, nothing. So when the End Of Days commercial hit during the VMAs, (I actually had my VCR rolling lol) people were a little punch drunk. I mean, we just went from Estranged to Oh My God lol. That's a massive and radical progression in sound. I really don't blame people for freaking out and taking a while to digest it. The only thing I didn't get was the absolute HATE. It was like Axl just killed everyone's first born or something haha.

Well, Estranged and Oh My God are both great songs.

I didn't know Axl chated with fans on the early 2000s (or late 90's, I don't know). As you were there Nintari, would you mind telling more about it?

There may have been more then one, but I think I'd remember that considering I was there constantly. The one time I was referring to wasn't really a "chat". He created a thread shortly after OMG released, asking all of us what we thought of it. He responded to me and maybe a few others, I can't remember but that was it. After a few days the entire thread became nothing but a complete disaster and Ed (the lone webmaster/moderator at the time) locked it after several pages of "fuck you Axl/the song sucks ass/you ruined GNR" comments.

That was pretty much the entire gnronline forum. It was like the wildwest. The only person who even attempted to moderate it was Ed and he wasn't even a moderator. I remember it got so bad that people started posting hard core porn as fucking thread titles lol. You would log in and the whole page was hard core porn. Ed would log in and clean it up and then as soon as he logged out, bam...it was all back. It was fucking crazy. I worked with Ed for awhile as sort of a temp mod, but there was no stopping it. I eventually quit going there when it was unusable and that's around the time Axl's home phone got posted and it was then shut down.

Oh yeah, you know that stalker that harassed Axl? The one who ended up in his house, naked in his kitchen or whatever? She use to post there late at night as "lolly". You wanna talk about some weird ass/creepy shit..you should have seen her threads lol.

Nice anecdotes Nintari. I thought you disliked new GNR for the longest time, glad to know you appreciate OMG.

It's a really badass song. It's got all this negative dark energy around it, I listen to it when I'm in a really bad and violent mood. I hope it's on CD2. Fuck what the mainstream audience is saying about new GNR and Chinese Democracy, those guys (finck, dizzy, tobias, bucket, brain, those other guys credited in CD but who aren't official GNR members that I forgot the name of) wrote fucking great songs, I became a fan with Chinese Democracy and I'm not ashamed to say it, I got 2 CD's in my car: Appetite and CD. People complain that Axl took 15 years to release CD, when in fact, 1) No, and Axl wasn't the only one writing, 2) they wrote and wrapped up dozens of songs within what, three or four years? And talk about top rate quality songs.

It amazes me they came up with that much great tracks and Oh my God is definitely up there with the best of the CD tracks (TWAT, TIL, CITR, Better, CD, Prostitute, SOD... yeah that's a lot but those are all fucking amazing songs, i don't get how they don't all get more recognition). All this Chinese Democracy material is fucking underestimated. I don't like to do this, but I think I got better tastes in music than 90% of the population who listen to Lady Gaga & stuff (i'm sorry but this kind of music is empty, no soul, no beat, nothing), and I'm saying almost everything (except Rhiad which I don't understand, except the great and weird guitar solo) on Chinese is top notch quality. I don't know if it's either way ahead of its time or too much anchored in the past, but it's definitely amazing.

Anyway, I wanna hear that instrumental as well.

When I met Axl last year in Oslo, except for the lame "can i take a pic with you" thing, I was only able to tell him one thing "I loved Chinese Democracy", and it's an understatement, I wish that all the guys that worked on CD knew how much their work means to me and to probably a lot of fans. This is the kind of work that make me compose music and wanna pursue my life as a musician.

We need OMG on CD2, and that instrumental as well. And hear whatever Bumble, Ashba and Fortus can come up with.

I really, really like OMG as well. I have to admit that I didn't care much for it until just a couple of years ago, but I think it just took time to grow on me. it's FAST and HEAVY - something I love and hope to hear more of on CD 2.

I also really want to hear this unreleased instrumental, though. :xmassrudolph:

I'm surprised End of Days even motivated Axl enough to write Oh My God.

In this kind of business, you often sign contracts before seeing the finished movie.

Back in 98/99, End of Days was one of the most anticpitated blockbusters, it was the new Schwarzenegger movie, and he was still a major superstar (hell, even the movie "Jingle all the way" was a blockbuster just because it had Schwarzy in it, that was the period when he was paid 100 million dollars a movie), so it was meant to be big.

Axl apparently only saw some rushes of the movie still in development, maybe it looked good in this premature state, and he had a good vibe (maybe still has) with Schwarzenegger back then, so this explains it.

Schwarzy is gonna make a comeback to the movie scene, so maybe Axl will give him another chance and write a song to an upcoming arnold movie or perhaps lend soul monster to a blockbuster.

Either way it would be good for both sides, as anticipation is building up for arnolds return, and with GnR's recent momentum, how could it go wrong?

perhaps Ahnold will be the main villain in Expendables 2?

What was Axl's username? I kinda understand all the rage, I mean... as said here before, after Estranged we got... OMG! It made me very sad when I 1st found out that Old GNR didn't exist anymore, but now, I'm glad.

Jesus. It's no wonder why Axl doesn't come out and talk more to the fan base. People are incredibly rude. It's like people have to take a negative attitude towards something and call someone out just to feel "important."

Anyways, this instrumental rocks. I love it. I've always liked OMG. I wish it never received such a negative reaction from those clowns.

Well, when it happened people were skeptical for awhile until Ed (webmaster) said it was legit. I was always a little skeptical, even after Ed confirmed it but then when I found out Axl had been watching the board and shut it down, I realized that yeah, it was obviously Axl. I guarantee you that Axl watches these and other forums way more then he leads on. There are rumors to go WAY back that he was online even before the gnronline forum. Remember the rant at RIR3? Where he talks about Xoxi and the internet being a big garbage can? Xoxi was a member (another lolly like FREAK) of the gnronline community lol. So I know he was there, watching and reading everything.

thanks for posting the youtube link - havn't heard this instrumental & i quite enjoy the clarity of this. the vocals / lyrics are great, but they muck up the sound a bit i think.

hope the band retools this and put it out in some fashion, b-side or something.
