Snake Eyes
Great record, first three tracks are obvious standouts to me. Think the rest will be, as ER said, a grower.
ITW 2012
From what I've listened to so far it sounds like they have made an 80's album. That album cover makes perfect sense now. Edited March 15, 2011 by ITW 2012
feconroses
Im the only one that totally dislike under cover of darkness? :confused2:

Nobodys_Fault
Pretty dissapointing record to be fair... the bands mindset seems to be "Yeah this sucks but we'll get it right next time!"
Snake Eyes
It's taken quite a few listens but I'm enjoying it now.
wasted
I like Machu Picchu. that's like The Lost City of the Incas? The cover looks like the archelogical site. The higher up the more important the religous site was. It's like they are saying this is the pinnacle of the strokes. seems to be lots of theories surrounding it. liquidmetal
amazing album, a real grower. this is possibly their second greatest album.
wasted
Taken for a Fool is cool song. The record seems to go between classic Strokes songs and more spin offs to U2, Radiohead, one sound like early Beatles tune.
Estranged Reality
They're doing another new track on Conan tonight. The album really, really grew on me. Taken for a Fool and Life is Simple... are my two favourites. Edited April 21, 2011 by Estranged Reality
ITW 2012
It's a pretty good album. I've listened to it more than any of their albums since Is this It. I think Casbalancas should leave the band and go solo full time though.
EccoTides
Great album - Definitely took some time to grow on me. I appreciate the short but sweet nature of it, especially since First Impressions had me reaching for the skip button every other track. The only spots that don't work for me are "You're So Right" and "Taken For a Fool." But aside from those two skippables in the middle, this is a sneakily catchy album that kicks off and winds down very strongly.
Snake Eyes
It's grown on me. Good album, can't wait to see them live. Taken For A Fool/Under Cover Of Darkness performances have been sweet. They played games on conan (i think) the other night. I fucking hate that song. Georgy Zhukov
Call Me Back and You're So Right are absolute shit. Sounds like they are trying to stay in the hipster's beds.
wasted
Moonlight is great closer. second best strokes album.
Georgy Zhukov
Aren't they working on their next album?Apparently they were rarely in the same studio together. Julian recorded his vocals miles away and emailed the the band the tracks. You're So Right felt like everyone just recorded a part in different studios on different days and just edited them together. Also I miss Albert's guitar solos.
