jekylhyde Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Aerosmith...I don't know why but I never got into Stones. I'm 25 so that might explain it. But I've always loved Aerosmith, since 1997 at least ...And I do like Keith's "solo" records. I guess I just can't stand Jagger's voice.
Jumpin' Jack Flash Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Definitely The Rolling Stones. It's a little like choosing between The Beatles and Oasis.
Bumble's Bridge Pickup Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Tough pick, because I'm not into either band
dalsh327 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 We need an Aerosmith/Stones double bill to happen once in this lifetime.
misch Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Definitely The Rolling Stones. It's a little like choosing between The Beatles and Oasis.This.
Guest Len B'stard Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 The Rolling Stones...because of Mick...and Keith...and Charlie...and Brian Jones...and Ronnie Wood...and Bill Wyman...and Ian Stewart...and Mick Taylor...and Bobby Keys...and Chuck Leavell....and all of em, beautiful bastards, one and all
Gordon Comstock Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Aerosmith, because they're awesome. And I never got into the Stones....
ChineseDemocracy2004 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 The Stones nick it for me. Love them both though.
ITW 2012 Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I can't believe anybody actually voted for Aerosmith. Maybe I'm just jaded though?
KBear Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Stones have more great tunes. And more variety. Gotta go with the Stones, no question really. But Aerosmith have some killer tunes - can't do dirty bluesy hard rock much better than Back in the Saddle, Last Child, Sweet Emotion, etc. And Steven Tyler is still a badass, even on AI. Velvet-Rose Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Tyler > Mick JaggerKeith > PerryBut there is a much larger distance between Tyler and Jagger than there is between Keith and Perry imo, so I'll go with Aerosmith.Cant stand Jagger. Stones could have been great without him. Edited March 5, 2011 by Velvet-Rose
bacardimayne Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 As much as I dislike most of the Rolling Stones material, I can't deny that their greats are truly some of the best rock songs out there.Aerosmith has some good songs, but nothing in the same league as Gimme Shelter, Sympathy, Paint it Black, Wild Horses, etc. besides maybe Dream On.
Angelica Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I can't believe anybody actually voted for Aerosmith. Maybe I'm just jaded though? At least one of them was almost certainly voting for 90s and beyond Aerosmith, too.
collision-tammi Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Like them both, but I prefer pre-1990 Aerosmith
AeroGNR Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Aerosmith, of course! Though I do love the Stones greatly.

Beatles...hands down no question not even close no contestI think Jumpin Jack may have (or maybe not, might be wrong) meant that as it's like choosing between the genuine article and a pale immitation.
