Guest siliconmessiah Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 What's the deal with htgth? Was there a reason for censoring this?Have no idea. There was another user here that found out, and it´s true. There have been numerous threads created today, and everyone gets deleted. I´m glad that I don´t go there anymore. But anyway it´s spooky. Most probably the interview stirred shit in G&R-camp and nagged Axl´s image. Can´t see it any other way, why it would be deleted. It´s a legit interview for fucks sake.
wreckless Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I don't know about you guys but I'm absolutely not looking forward to a Guns album written by Bumblefoot and DJ ... I'm definitely looking forward to a Guns album written by them. Axl's voice with guitar work like this would be oldschool rock 'n roll:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMfwaosV8n4
loko Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Fuck oldschool rock... you could rather listen ac dc, velvet revovler etc... we need something new.
moreblack Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Fuck oldschool rock... you could rather listen ac dc, velvet revovler etc... we need something new.I'm sure somebody somewhere does...That's no reason to fuck oldschool rock?
rockerman Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Fuck oldschool rock... you could rather listen ac dc, velvet revovler etc... we need something new.Shhhhh no need to demonstrate your ingnorance..the statement stands...we have enough sissybitch crap out there on the market without GNR deepthroating the knobs with technoindustrialmashup bullshit. The experiment..spoke for itself and the world in general yawned and went back to listening to AFD and UYI. Its ok to admit that your generation is puts out shit that willnever rival the "old school" rock.
sweetness Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 i never realized there were people who thought Axl had only been working on those 13 Chinese Democracy songs... really?
rockerman Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) Remember guys, this isn't the first time hes mentioned not ever being in the studio with guns to write and create some new music, this obviously means a lot to him to create something of his own with the aid of the other current members in the band, and not just add bits/solos here and there (which is all understandable), 5 years can quickly turn into 10 without ever creating something with the band.So the next fucker who cringes at the term "hired gun" best read this again...a band has so much more components to it than the muscianship of the players..called chemistry...I say a band has to rehearse together and get a "feel" for each other. what Axl did was this: hired on a "band" recorded enough songs to coast into retirement. That band didnt have what it took to sell the sizzle as GNR particularly the two freak shows on guitar...so hes armed with 3 albums plus of work recorded that should be toured so he hires on guys like Ron and DJ to replicate ...gives them a piece of the pie by letting them lay down tracks in exchange for royaltie considerations ... CD comes out Axl fulfills contractual obligations tours the record ..takes hios cut ..then takes a 5 year vacation... then drops another album CD2...tours it...takes a vacation and then releases the third album and does the same only he retires and hangs up his horns.hes got the formula and the brand name at his disposal. Finks career all but disappeared as GNRs main man.. Buckethead did his act with in the GNR act and the sound was ecllectic but it wasnt a true band as per say...it would be interesting to know just how many in person band jams went into the hopper as writing session making CD. from what it sounds like it was done seperate and apart. Guest NewGNRnOldGNR Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 As much as I'd like to hear the efforts of the present incarnation of Guns N' Roses, as a fan of “Chinese Democracy”, I'd like to hear some more material from that era. I want to hear songs like “The General”, “Atlas Shrugged” etc. (those tracks have been too “bigged up” to never be widely heard). Axl should leak the rest of “Chinese Democracy” or release a massive box set (it'll close that chapter of GN'R for good and allow the new band to progress).

Changes Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 i never realized there were people who thought Axl had only been working on those 13 Chinese Democracy songs... really?Well it's easy to believe that if he had 13 songs much sooner he wouldn't have waited 10 years for a release. Even with delays caused by others.
spunko12345 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 He didnt sound too happy about re working on the albums. As an artist I am sure he is dying to make new material with Guns.He hasn't sounded too happy about the way things have been going for a while now. I think he either wants to make some music with Guns, or just get back to his solo thing, if that's not going to happen. This is kind of stating the obvious. If no new music gets made with Guns he will have to go back to his solo career.
Nick85 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) I think Ron sounds pretty ungrateful the way he talks about Axl wanting to put out the rest of the Chinese Democracy Era tracks, stressing that they're 10 years old with players that have been gone for 5 years. The vast majority had no idea who 'Bumblefoot' was prior to him joining Guns, and Axl went out of his way to make sure Ron was all over Chinese Democracy and the followup.Maybe that's why Axl's having this interview deleted wherever he can, namely HTGTH.It seems like most of the fans are extremely psyched to hear the rest of the CD Era tracks. Bring it on! Edited March 4, 2011 by sofine11
bumblecool Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Ron loves music...He wants to make music in GN'R or solo... And no1 can blame him for that

Bring it on! It must be a bit of a kick in the teeth to Ron though when he has gone out of his way to try and engage guns n roses fans and say something that he feels we would like to hear (i.e new material from this band) only to be told he is ungrateful.Only a GNR fan could call the lead guitarist ungrateful for wanting to get in the studio and record new music.Surely its not too hard to comprehend, Sofine11 my friend, that the CD era music is done and releasing it can be done at the same time as getting in the studio. You cant honestly believe that releasing an album can be that complicated. For christsakes you cant even use the "mythical" status of it as a reason this time. No one is waiting with baited breath, there are no lawsuits (surely to fucking god there cant be any more lawsuits). Just get the bastard out and move on.

He's been in the band five years and they haven't even tried to write a new song together. Thats pretty rough.
kyrie Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Perhaps we could just let it play out instead of manufacturing animosity and contreversy? I have no idea why Jarmo isn't letting that interview be posted on HTGTH but at this point I don't really care since it's been posted everywhere else anyway.
ThinkAboutYou Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) I think the records should be released as is because really the band that recorded them was 2000+ era Edited March 5, 2011 by ThinkAboutYou
GNR123GNR456 Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Maybe they can release a box set of sort's for the old NuGNR material? And possibly record maybe a new song or two to go with it, like some band's do with Greatest Hit's CD's. Have the old Chinese Democracy era song's like The General and Silkworms, then a new track or two. Maybe Blood in the Water. Anyway, I hope we hear something before the end of 2011. A tour, new song, new album, something to keep us interested.
oneAXLinamillion Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Great! I'd love to hear this stuff so much!!!

Even with delays caused by others.actually... i don't think it is. Its been pretty well documented that the Chinese Democracy sessions produced at least 3 albums worth of material over the course of about 15 years, Axl talked about it in one of his interviews with Kurt Loder around the turn of the century
Axl Rose aka God Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I'm kinda disappointed in this. Sure, I do wanna hear the rest of the Chinese Democracy sessions but...You've got Ron, DJ, Frank, Tommy, Dizzy, Chris, Fortus, and Axl. Ron and DJ are excellent, excellent guitarists. Frank is a master of drumming. And you haven't sat down and recorded with them yet? That's a HUGE waste of both Axl's and their talents...I'm really disappointed but right now I would prefer it if Axl released the Chinese Democracy sessions first...then focused on "what's next" after...if it's even a consideration...

ChineseDemocracy2004 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Just a thought on how to go about releasing new (old) material.Re-release CD with a bonus disc of previously unreleased songs and live tracksorRelease an EP with a mixture of new (old) CD songs as well as brand new material including BBF and DJ before releasing a followup to CD.

Absolutely nothing is stopping them from getting in a room to write music. I don't understand why they don't just do it. They don't need axl's blessing to do that.
