lost in the garden Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Not sure about Joshua Tree being #1 (U2 made better albums)But GNR sitting at #2 is pretty sweet
grigori Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 London calling? That came out in 1979. The Wall came out a month earlier, may as well put it on the list.
batman007 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 U2#1? I guess the voters are bono fans. I think app fo des made a bigger impact at that time. Number 2 is fn sweeet though.
moreblack Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) 7-10 are debatable, there's so many other albums that could be there. Edited March 26, 2011 by moreblack

Izzy_Stradlin_XX Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Back in Black should be in third or smthing.Anyway, i don't watch more RS tops after seeing that they consider Kurt Cobain as one of the best guitarrists in the world.
jmapelian Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 this quote from slash is so true for me:"When I was a kid, there were these be-with-you-forever albums that represented something in your life," Slash told Rolling Stone in 2007. "Whether it was the background music of your childhood or your puberty or whatever — Dark Side of the Moon or Sticky Fingers or Aerosmith's Rocks or Led Zeppelin IV. And we made one of those records, which is all I could ever have asked for. It gives me goose bumps. That's something no one ever can take away from me."
Guest Len B'stard Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 London calling? That came out in 1979. The Wall came out a month earlier, may as well put it on the list.London Calling has consistently been called the greatest album of the 80s but you're dead right, it did come out in 1979. Personally i'd put it up evens with Appetite, The Queen is Dead. Straight Outta Compton definitely should be on that list. I never knew The Wall came out in the 80s. This top ten on its own is a great testament to why there was an explosion of alternative music in the early 90s.
mrandyk Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 1. Powerslave - Iron Maiden/thread.Id put Powerslave behind AFD, Ride the Lightning, and maybe Master of Puppets.
moreblack Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Loverboy didn't make it. I don't understand.yeah, and where are Hysterya and Pyromanya?
Turn_It_Up Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) Not sure about Joshua Tree being #1 (U2 made better albums)No way. Joshua Tree, top to bottom, blows away all their other albums. Would still rank Appetite a clear #1, but JT was U2's masterpiece and hell of a record... Edited March 26, 2011 by Turn_It_Up

Achtung Baby definitely has some major high points, but IMO Joshua Tree the far better overall record. But AB still great.Very similar to how I view the UYI's comparing to Appetite...
