Carne_asaDA
I would think so. I think that it would actually make an incredible splash on the charts quite frankly.
bacardimayne
Do remastered albums often sell 500k domestic/3 mil worldwide?
Carne_asaDA
Do remastered albums often sell 500k domestic/3 mil worldwide?Thriller sold more than 500k domestic when it was re-released.
bacardimayne
I guess it's possible then, but Thriller is the most successful album of all time, and Thriller 25 had a lot of bonus shit attached to it.Highly unlikely to say the least.
gunsguy
Honestly what is the point of that? It would suck because I want this band to move forward and to keep going. Maybe one day sure but not just now IMO
Young_Gun
Haha Appetite still sells a shit load every year. Sometime in the 2000's it was selling upward of 200,000 copies a year... No point in a remaster. The thing is a monster. Not even mentioning the Greatest Hits CD which has some not so good songs on it.
bacardimayne
For the record, I'd like to see an AFD 25 version of some sort, with bonus tracks and unheard demos or something, but not a remaster. Rather not see AFD become another loudness war victim.
wasted
there might be a spike but ultimately it would just go back selling what it does now.I'd prefer the re-recorded version of AFD.
Freddie Mercury's Ghost
The mix of the original album was fine - no need for a remaster, really
wasted
remaster ok as long as you havent heard orginal. like Zepp Remasters first time I heard really. But Angel Dust and Exile was heartattack. it sounds the same but different. in other words torture.
dalsh327
They've talked about releasing classic albums on Blu Ray. The Exile Universal vs Virgin reissue, Virgin wins on some songs, Universal wins on others. I think it would be cool if AFD had the Deluxe Edition treatment with a "making of" documentary and concert... other than the Ritz.
FuddMckagan
They should release something for Appetite's 25th, re mastered wouldn't be bad I think. As long as it's done by someone who won't kill the mix.
ITW 2012
I'd like to have Chinese Democracy on Blu Ray. It's a shame that it's not mixed in 5.1.
saber_
The usual suspects. Typical. Heh.Gee I don't know about you guys but I'd rather hear some remastered unreleased studio outtakes, demos, and vault stuff. Screw a remaster of an album I've listened to a million times. I mean, yeah, wow what an original concept re-release AFD :eyeroll: hey that that's great discussion worthy excellence it may or may not outsell chinese democracy. Gimme the rare stuff, you can have your stealth trolling victory.
Use Your Delusion 1
For the record, I'd like to see an AFD 25 version of some sort, with bonus tracks and unheard demos or something, but not a remaster. Rather not see AFD become another loudness war victim.this would be good, and it would also sell well, though I doubt as well as CD, which will by now have sold more than 4 million no doubt
Changes
No, I don't think so. I think there were more exited casual GN'R fans who did not know what to expect by the time of the release of CD, than there are really nerdy AFD fans who would take interest in remastered stuff, at least without bonus tracks. Maybe it would sell more than CDII though, if it doesn't have a hit single. Now the old casual fans know what to expect.
moreblack
AFD doesn't need remastering. Any drastic changes would just p*ss fans off.The UYIs on the other hand could use a bit of tweaking...

star
a re release by anything from the original GN'R would out sell the hire hands line up.

Liquor & Whores
we don't need a remastered 1987 version of AFDwe need AFD re-recorded by the new band - it would kick ass, and I say this after having heard the SCOM from Big Daddy soundtrack...
