Medina: "Guns N' Roses concert this year was the hardest to arrange in all the Rock in Rio history"

I know the 'on time' thing has been discussed 100X's now, but I still don't get it. Dude has the greatest gig in world, has adoring fans paying big money, just show up on time. He has 6 months to show up at said time for Rio. No excuses period. Any late show would be so preconceived it'd be sad. It might have truly been bad ass, spur of moment "rock n roll" back in the day of real GnR, but now a days, it's pathetic. It's like 'really....you had all day with nothing to do but show up for FANS that paid money to see you and you are gonna basically crap on them'? The only ones he truly hurts by playing games is us. Do the promoters really care-no, they have our ticket money. Do his employees/hired misicians really care-no, they are under contract. Does he give a fuck-nope (probably laughs at us fools).

The only problem I see with this is that there will be more or less 200 thousand people and it would be a disaster having a riot there.

Actually, this year the limit is 100 thousand people.

And there is going to be an amusement park in the place, a place with electronic music and another one with jazz and whatever. Whoever gets sick of waiting, just fuck off to one of these places. Of course there is always going to be an ass who will want to start trouble... :shrugs:

Straight up truth, and then there will also be the usual crowd that doesn't attend, but nonetheless feels compelled to moan, bitch, and complain from their collective keyboards

yes and from our collective keyboards its funny watching someone taking a mighty yet pathetic stance against both sides of the slash/guns n roses fence.

Wasn't Axl starting shows at like 1 am and later last year when he toured South America? I thought he even started one show sometime past 2 am.

Yes. 1AM+.

São Paulo concert was booked to 22PM and it started 00h40AM. And I was there since 1PM. It was hard.

I thought the same thing. If Axl wants to be late, he'll be late and have his people pay the fine.

I read this on blabbermouth.net and then Sebastian Bach explained why Axl is late so much. He said it takes Axl 45 minutes or more to get his voice ready to sing Sweet Child of Mine.

Okay, that makes sense, but then again, if Axl knows this, then he should start getting his voice ready in plenty of time to be on time for the concert! lol

you know back in the 70's, my mom waited alot for acts like Rod Stewart and the Faces, who were always late. Back then no one seemed to mind waiting and once they hit the stage all was forgotten and everyone had a blast. Back then, bands played shows for 2 hours or more, so they made up for being late.

If GNR did a US tour and came to Dallas, I wouldn't care how much I had to pay for the ticktes or how long I had to wait for Axl, I would do it in a New York minute, if Axl and GNR would actually do a full US tour.

Is there just so much love for Axl in Brazil that he can get away with that or were people on the verge of rioting?

In Rio they came on at around 2 AM. And it was scheduled for 10 PM too. But Baz played until 11:30 or something. I guess everything started late. People booed during the wait and the intro, but once the band started playing they just enjoyed themselves. I didn't see anyone trying to start trouble.

X a million. I cannot wait to see Guns in my home state for once! The times I have seen Gnr there has not been a time I didnt wait 1 and a half-2hrs. Its all worth it!
