Robert Trujillo is a better player than Newstead, I dont think its any coincidence that prog Metallica died with Cliff Burton- The Load / Re-load albums were not much cop. They have a better player now, and are making better records again ( Death Magnetic) So I dont agree with you.

Where is it said that Newstead was forced out? I believe this to be untrue.

are you fucking serious??? are you fucking stupid or blind deaf or whatever the fuck you call it? i've seen metallica a million fucking times and jason blows everyboy out of the fucking water im so serious he is so underrated it could fucking make me tear up it annoys me he doesnt get recognised for the amazing shit he did

jason was the fucking mastermind of metallica but of course the bum buddies in the band didn't like it. look man its pretty fucking obvious, they were into fucked up gay shit and fucked each other and jason wasnt into that shit so they made his life hell and he had to basically fucking leave he was forced out. ask any tallica fan i kid you not. i mean i presume we have no gays on here you cant have gay metalheads its too messed up and to have them as huge metal artists make me sick. they should be real men. if they wern't so fucking gay they'd be perfect but lcuky for them they produce fucking amazing misic

YES! I am serious!! Robert Trujillo is a better abled bassist, the band have said for the 1st time in 25 years they are able to write more like they used to, because Robert can use the same classical chord progressions and scales like Cliff Burton. Master of Puppets is when progressive Metallica died, Cliff also died that year. We then had the Black album ( My favourite) but I think that was inspired by the Bands grief ( for Cliff) the albums that followed were wank! Are you a Re-load fan?? If you think Newstead was the "Mastermind" in Metallica I seriously doubt your education on the Band, no matter how many times you suggest that you have seen them, you seem to lack a common knowledge

Jason was very good in metallica, nobody says the opposite, but to be honest i prefer the bass sound of trujillo...

Not a big fan of Mettalica, some good songs here and there but anyway very overrated band. And Joey Jordison run fuckin' circles around Lars playing Mettalica songs when he had replaced him.

Some songs are good? Many songs are great and Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are easily 2 of the top 10, if not top 5, metal albums ever. Lars' drumming was never a focal point, he can write music. Lets see Jordison write something. Metallica isnt my favorite band (Im more into Megadeth), but I can not stand it when people do not give respect.

So they booked Yankee stadium and I would think since its such a huge venue the prices would be decent. Wrong! $225 for GA and $175 for back GA. Those prices are fn crazy! I know its 4 bands, besides Metallica the other 3 are not big arena bands. If it doesnt sell out and I dont think it will. I think they could of made more money and filled up the place more, if the prices were lower. Talk about greed. By the way I am a Metallica fan.

Doesn't matter about the circles, Jordison's band doesn't have the songs. Lars' band does.

When did Metallica got famous? 5 years after their debut album Kill 'em all when MTV started to play the video of One. There are great songs on Kill 'em all, Ride the lightning, Master of puppets and ...And justice for all but most of these songs became famous by the bigger audience after the video of One. This video was also the reason why Metallica got so hugh in such a short time because soon after that they started to play bigger stadiums (Seattle 1989 for example) and they became bigger and bigger year by year. 3 years before One they mostly played average festivals and smaller clubs but 3 years after One they where one of the main acts at the Monsters of Rock festival in Moscow. With the Black album they created a more commercial metal sound to made it more availlable for the bigger audience. They created a hugh fanbase with that album and every album after that.

About Slipknot. They don't need songs when they have such a live reputation. Has anyone of you ever seen Slipknot live in front of an audience of 500 man/woman? 12 years ago i did and i was fucking blown away. The energy they bring on to the audience is far from beyond. They don't come on stage and simply do their jobs. No, they make the audience a part of the show so that they can enjoy it to the fullest.

You know what's ironic about Metallica? They sounded better when James Hetfield couldn't sing. Ever since he's started actually singing melodically or whatever, it just doesn't have the *ahem* (forgive me for the obvious pun here) "metallic" timbre to his voice.

You know what would be cool? Axl and Dave Mustaine making a couple tracks together. Why not?? It's like the Sam & Dave tour, except cooler. And better. Their collective piss and vinegar would make for interesting songs. C'mon, it would be full of so much win. Ok it'll never happen I know.

Carry on chaps. Carry on.

Man, you're awesome!

I saw Slipknot, it was fucking stupid. They were better than Korn, but I realized that day how much I hate all numetal bands.
