The ultimate post 96 GNR cd

If you could take all the great songs from Chinese, slash solo CD, velvet revolver, duff and izzys projects, and maybe even Adler's stuff and put them on a comprehensive CD reflecting the CD that could have been what they woulda came up with had they not broken up, what would you include? Lets limit it to 20 songs and avoid who's stuff is better. Just keep it to a list and have some feedback.....lemme know what you guys think....

Very original. I guess you don't respect or care for what Izzy slash or duff have done since leaving the band?

Every time I come into this section I am still baffled that there are people that think Chinese Democracy was a great album.

What would you say is wrong with it?

Pretty sure I said to not debate the individual music. Stay on topic.....

CD

Better

TWAT

Sorry

Madagascar

TIL

Prostitute

Slither

Sweet Caress

Ghost

Crucify the Dead

Promise

Nothing To Say

Watch This (would be perfect with Axl vocals).

14 tracks. Perfect, same number as CD. Basically, I love Chinese Democracy, it's what got me into Guns N' Roses, it's now my favourite album ever, but I feel like the rockers are weak compared to pre-94 GNR stuff and VR and Slash's solo output. Nobody does ballads better than Axl, though. I may consider Fall to Pieces, but I'd have to hear what lyrics Axl would have composed for it, and TIL does the job anyway. Slither is the best post-94 hard rock track. TWAT is the best post-94 song and is my favourite song of all time.

I do, I have, and indeed love all slash's albums, both VR albums, both Loaded albums, Gilby and Izzy's first records, 3 buckethead records, and 3 bumblefoot recrds.

I just think CD was best.

I read somewhere that Slash think's Axl's version of Sweet Child O' Mine from the Big Daddy movie soundtrack is awful, i wonder what Axl think's of the Paradise City cover on Slash's solo album.

And i am baffled that there are people that think otherwise! Its one of the best albums this post 2000s, incredible well-written songs like Better, There was a time, Catcher in the Rye, Sorry, Prostitute, Chinese Democracy and Street of dreams.

I completely agree! Chinese Democracy is fantastic.

Even though the GNR-band and Axl of 2011 is a clusterfuck of epic proportions in terms of releasing material, promotion, fan-communication, sticking together and acting like a band.

It´s very sad that no more album will come out of that fine, experimental and exciting group of musicians...=/

Those covers are way different. Axl was trying to do the song exactly as the original, with new people. Slash's cover of Paradise City is like GNR's cover of Knockin on Heaven's Door, the only things that havent changed are the words. All that aside, both covers fucking suck.

I bet you 10$ that this is NOT an experiment. It is GUNS N' ROSES. I can't wait to see your reaction when CD II comes out........

Come on man...you need to let go now. I can bet against you at any time, this current line-up is done for. It was dysfunctional from the start, they started of doing ONLY covers and has not done ANYTHING yet.

They are splitting up for the summer, doing nothing but solo-stuff.

The MSL-leaks surely damaged some relations in the band, and I guess a lot of shit has happened since then.

We may get an album in 5 years time, but there will be no Ashba in it for example...and hey...the trilogy of albums mentioned 2 years ago was only Axl bullshitting his fans as always.
