Death Star
Just to clear things up before this discussion starts, Metalcore is NOT emo and should not be associated in any way shape or form with emo, nor should it be associated with Nu Metal or bands like Avenged Sevenfold.Anyways.......Here are some good bandsDeception Of A Ghost- Passion For Smashin'The Devil Wears Prada- Big Wiggly StyleTexas In July- Elements Edited June 27, 2011 by Death Star
bt88
Kind of a played out genre, leads to a lot of cookie cutter bands.
LightningBolt
nor should it be associated with... bands like Avenged Sevenfold.I thought that Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen are usually considered Metalcore?Anyways, I'm only familiar with the most popular bands, which I'm not a fan of. I'll give a listen to the ones you've posted. I've heard of Texas in July, and I think I kinda liked them.
Graeme
By far my favourite metalcore band. Probably because they're way more Melodic Death Metal influenced than a lot of the others.
sweetness
Kind of a played out genre, leads to a lot of cookie cutter bands.This. The internet is a wasteland of mediocre metalcore band myspaces that all sound exactly the same. I'll admit there was a time I was really into Norma Jean and Every Time I Die though, dare I say... Bring Me The Horizon It came and went like the flu, however the idea that a vocalist wasn't singing really opened my mind to discover some great bands I never would have been able to get into. Metalcore is a decent bridge between hard rock/heavy metal and hardcore/post hardcore/emo and on the other end death metal/sludge/black metal if you know what I mean. Not metalcore at all, but if you're into miserable shit with lots of distortion and screaming I highly recommend you download and listen to this entire album really loud right now. bt88
These guys basically perfected what we know as metalcore. Their first two albums still hold up as damn good. Credit where credit is due, they were metalcore before it got to be tired and generichttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YSBGKdgvv8 Edited June 27, 2011 by bt88
chevelle
Metalcore is dreadful. Attack Attack, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me the Horizon, Sleeping With Sirens, they all fucking sound the same. I have to put up with people posting this crap on Facebook, when I couldn't tell the bands apart. It's the pop of metal.
