Anybody else still wish that Buckethead would come back?

Ron has been amazing so far and hopefully we'll hear more of him in the studio. His solos on CD were great, especially Shackler's and Catcher. I still find it difficult to distinguish him from Buckethead on Scraped and Raid. The man can shred.

Didn't Bucket cause a lot of problems for the band? They had to cancel a tour for him.

I thought Ron's solos on Shackler's Revenge and Catcher in the Rye were terrible, and I'd bet anybody on here that Axl will never write new music with Ron.

Nah..... I wouldnt mind it but why rock the boat.

If bucket really wanted to come back i would be more accepting. But i just cant see him really wanting to deal with all the delays as prolific as he is.

Because I think Axl would feel more confident in recording and releasing new music with Bucket in the lineup. He's the star player that Axl needed to really continue under the GNR name in a meaningful way.

Not a fan of NuGnR, but I did like the 2002 band, so I am not up on the history but isn't part of the reason Bucket left was he was tired of waiting for Axl to make music? Just speculating but somehow I doubt they would have released 3 albums already with Bucket in the band or anymore than Axl already has................. :shrugs:

I think that's a big part of why he left. He also probably didn't like having to share solos with an obviously inferior guitar player like Robin Finck. In my dream scenario Axl would fire Ron and DJ, and Bucket would come back to play lead while Richard played rhythm.

I'd love to see Buckethead back, he's definitely the best GNR has had since Slash, Bucket can play his ass off as well as make you feel every note pierce you in an emotional piece. He can go to both extremes and everything in between. And while he did cause them to cancel the 2001 European Tour due to illness and was notably hard to be around, he got the job done and made every piece 10 times better. But then again waiting isn't what Buckethead is about, by the time he joined Guns he had just about as much material as they did, and now he has 30 some studio albums out there (and most are in fact good if not great). Axl made a real mistake by letting Buckethead leave just because he didn't want to tour or put the album out (And Given that Buckethead plays on just about every track on the album we know it would have to at least exited near completion at his leave.) If Axl has the opportunity he really should bring Bucket back, Bumblefoot could easily be replaced and it would make several fans happier and he would have an awesome guitar to boot.

Bucket may have felt the material from AFD and UYI were inferior to what he can play as well. I like the whole two lead and one rhythm band. One guitarist plays the pure rock and roll/blues notes that tend to be sloppy but that's what rock is all about. One classically trained virtuoso to play the more complex notes, and the rythmn guy who does the occasional solo but keeps the riffs coming. I never saw Buckethead as a replacement for Slash, he's too good to be a replacement. He was brought in to expand the band's sound like Dizzy and Chris were.

He would have been a show within a show. A solo section of him shredding on electric, acoustic guitars, banjos, even a piano! Complete with numchucks and free toys.

I saw the band in 02 and his solo spot was one of the highlights of the show.

Yes, I would love that.

80's and 90's Axl would laugh at the idea of guy needing to wear a mask to play in a band........wouldn't matter how how good he is.

Perhaps... but, thank god, he changed his mind.

But, seriously, Sunny. Forget the mask, he's much deeper than that -especially with that triple rectifier (THAT SHIT IS DEEP. PERIOD).

I love Bucket, but Ron has put so much time with GUNS. So... I would keep Ron and maybe have Bucket come in for a couple of shows. Or maybe have Bucket in the studio with Ron.

That would be interesting and would probably melt peoples faces off
