saber_
Now that the playing field is even, there are no more secrets, the collective fan consciousness has a certain awareness, and so now.. I tell you: Nu Guns' 2nd album will sell more than Libertad. There is no debate. It is indisputable. A foregone conclusion. This is quite definitely an accomplishment on several levels, so perhaps it's time to give credit where credit is due. Carry on.

WhazUp
It all depends if a new album will ever see the light of day...I don't know... if they don't release a new album for 14 years the collective sales of Libertad will probably be biggerBut who gives a fuck, they are two separate bands. Trying to pry another Axl's band vs. Slash's band argument is pointless
Georgy Zhukov
Nu Guns and VR will forever be compared. One is Axl's band and the other is Slash's band. Now that VR is on hiatus it seems to draw even more comparison.
Zanedog
Am I the only one who liked Libertad more than Contraband?Libertad had more of a Tiny Music Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop feel to it, and it seemed to me that was the direction STP might have gone with on the next album. I mean Days of the Week would have fit in perfectly on Libertad. So I don't know, I love it, but both albums are a bit even in my opinion. One more GNR influencedOne more STP influencedBoth my favorite bands! The Wicked Hand
Well,it will sell more because it sys GNR on it.You can count on that . Write it down.Doesn't matter if it sucks shit or is GNRs best.GNR is a Powerhouse of a brand....... Even still. Of course it will.. DUH! axl666
Libertad was a disaster saleswise. The interesting thing is how close Contraband was toChinese Democracy in terms of sales.
Guest Len B'stard
If it does then to my mind thats yet more kudos to Slash, seeing as he help build the GnR name/sound/everything.Am I the only one who liked Libertad more than Contraband? I did too, its more rock n rolley and less metalley. Edited September 7, 2011 by sugaraylen

I did too, its more rock n rolley and less metalley.I couldn't sit through most of Contraband. Slither and Fall to Pieces are overplayed and the only track I really enjoyed was Loving the Alien. Libertad was much more listenable to me. Maybe it's because it's closer to STP than GN'R and it sounds better because the STP singer is singing it. Contraband is like Guns N' Roses without Axl Rose and it sounds depressing.Goes to show you can replace the entire band but never the singer. moreblack
I didn't really like Libertad, too mellow compared to Contraband. If anything, the 2nd album shoulda been heavier. That being said, I did give it a listen recently and it's better than I remember...

moreblack
Contraband is a great rock album. CDII will definately sell more than Libertad (that's not saying much though)let's hold our breath for big numbers
Apollo
I didn't like either album. Very generic rock. Fall to pieces was pure paint ny numbers as it gets.
moreblack
Hope it does better in the US than CD I did. First step in the right direction would be NOT to have an exclusive deal with any company.Thaaaat's probably a big case of "lesson learned". First step in the right direction would be NOT to have an exclusive deal with any company. If what Axl is saying is true in that if you didn't like ChiDem I you will not like the rest of the CHiDem leftovers I wouldn't count on it........But sales numbers don't mean anything right Axl fans?Still trolling the GNR section? Pathetic.Actually sales don't dictate how good ANY music is.Lady Gaga sure isn't good.
