Cosmo
Hate to be a pessimist, and I wish I thought they will, but my guess is we'll be getting a very special setlist, with songs they don't usually play but no new songs Hope I'm wrong!!! Guest gunns5
I'd only want a new song and no estranged/past gnr song, after all this time if they play those old songs before a new song then that's stupid, it's taking this band backwards. Lose Your Illusions
I hope as much as everyone else.If they tear up Rio (as I expect) they can build momentum for a should be kickass U.S. tour. The cards are lined up right, a prominent act opening in Buckcherry in the U.S., a full youtube stream for the first show. This is a new era for GNR, and the time for new songs is now. Edited September 30, 2011 by Lose Your Illusions

hudsonsaul
I voted NO, mostly because GNR are not in a position where they can keep the crowd entertained with the odd new song thrown in. Ppl nowadays with Guns, want the classics especially at festivals. Whilst I think they'd struggle to play the likes of Prostitute, TWAT, Catcher etc without boring the majority. Sad fact imo.And if they don't express themselves at Rio, you can bet your ass the US tour will be even more AFD based. If Axl wants to keep ppl entertained with new songs, he need to shrink his venues and tour under a different name. By touring under the GUNS banner without a massive album behind them, they are destined to have to dish out the old songs. Every gnr gig I've been too, ppl are pretty much asleep and completely disinterested in the new stuff (its a shame cause i think its great) and that has to reflect back to the guys on stage and thus fuel more classics SO i vote no.Hope I'm wrong (and if i am, hope they...stick.....to....their....GUNS........ pun completely deliberate and fully intended )

ChineseDemocracy2004
new as in unreleased? nonew as in not yet played by the new line-up? possiblyI agree with this but I'm not as optimistic about the guys playing an old song that they haven't performed live before.
