USA Tour Ticket Prices

I don't want to be the one to complain, but...

Last time I saw GnR was in 2006 in Worcester, MA at the DCU center. I paid 40$ each for GA floor tickets.

GnR is finally returning, 5 years later, to the same venue and the cheapest ticket you can even purchase is about $55 and that's for the upper balcony, the GA Floor tickets are $90 after fees.

I love GnR, they are my favorite band of all time, new and old, I'm obsessed, but that's absolutely ridiculous considering the 5 years we got of getting treated like shit, let alone the fact that GnR barely has a sellable market in the USA!

I just think prices are out of this world insane, granted I'll still be there, but I would have liked to have been on the floor, getting there early and in front row for my favorite band. I can't afford that however, so I'll be sitting a mile away.

it's not the band's fault, talk to ticketmaster about it. Why do you think Pearl Jam went on the crusade that they did back in 1992.

I agree that they are more expensive than I expected. The one pair of tickets I got so far for Wilkes-Barre were about $67 a piece, which is alright with me. But the tickets for Camden are around $115 a piece! And East Rutherford prices are $87 each.

I mean, GA tickets for U2 were between $60-65 after the "convenience fees", and you got to experience this:

Yeah, U2 might be a bigger band and can offered to sell them for that cheap, but regardless.

Soundgarden tickets were $75 a piece for GA, which is fine, in my opinion.

I believe GA tickets should lie somewhere between the range of $50-80, depending on the band and venue.

Either way, I was hoping to buy my tickets a few days ago for the Worcester pre-sale but that didn't work out once we saw prices. It's hard enough as a college student to get to concerts between the ticket prices, gas etc.. I go to alot of shows, rock, rap etc..I saw Kid Cudi 2 weeks ago at the DCU Center and paid 50$ for GA floor...same venue for GnR is 90$. Can't even make an argument to tell me that GnR is more popular right now in the US than Kid Cudi, if youre familiar with who he is.

Just angry that I wont be buying tickets to GnR for a couple more weeks now

It's worth every dollar.

I mean where else can you spend $100 a ticket to have to wait 2+ hours after the opening act is done, have Axl say barely a world to the crowd all night, see the same setlist night in and out, and get about 5 guitar solos that ruin the flow of the concert all because Axl doesn't see alot of value in cardiovascular training.

When I went to the show in Cleveland last time they toured the arena had maybe 35-4500 for a place that holds 18,000. That was with tickets at $65. Half filled arenas really kill the vibe of the show, and lead Axl to be more likely to go through the motions out there because he is staring out at waves of empty seats.

Maybe the rock hall nomination will give the tour a little bump in ticket sales with the band name being in the public again.

Wow, you be basing your review from the MTV show back in 2001....

Well, some venues are cheaper to rent out then others. And everything is more expensive then it was 5 years ago.

Obviously everything is more expensive than it was 5 years ago.

Clearly you missed where I mentioned going to the same exact venue, two weeks ago, for a much more popular US act, had GA tickets and paid substantially less money.

Who was the band? What was their stage set-up, entourage, crew, etc? What is their contract with promoters/ticketmaster/livenation? You don't know why that band cost less, so you can't really make a comparison.

Plus, bands like Guns, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Metallica etc all charge the same for tickets...

I agree with you on the ticket prices, they are high! I saw them in Oakland ca back in 2006. I had tickets to bakersfield ca as well as fresno ca but those were cancelled so thats why I bought the tix to the oakland show. two lower level tix with tax came out to $130, which was awesome, as was the show. I would love to see them again but with these prices I am not sure I will be able to.

I hope for everyone going to these shows at these prices that Axl shows up to the first shows in shape and ready to go, as opposed to "play his way into shape" tact he has taken in recent tours where he starts out winded and out of shape, and by the end of the tour is better. For the kind of money they are asking, the first show had better be performed at the same level as the last.

To those of you asking about the complaining because ticket prices are XX amount average where you live, you have to think that it's probably a lower cost of living where you are, or minimum wage is higher, ect. All of those come into effect, but regardless, I'm an every bit Axl/NuGuns supporter, already bought a pair of tickets for one show so far, but I agree that $90+ is a little much.

$100 for floor tickets is cheap. it's the standard price you'll have to pay to see any other band like GN'R

my cousin paid $300 for lower bowl tickets to Madonna....now thats fucking over-priced (and not even the most expensive ones)

I purchased tickets to the Meadowlands show in 06. Floor tickets were $125. And the floor was split so I paid the same amount as the people in the front half but didn't go through MLB.com so I got stuck in the back half of the GA section. Stupid shit! Anyway this year I'm going to the Camden, NJ show and pit tickets are $115. I'm happy with the price, all things considered.

Edit: Plus consider the fact that Axl has to pay all the overtime fees to everyone who works at the venues because of his late start/finish times. That ain't cheap. I've read Slash say that very little money was made on the Illusions tours when you consider how many shows there were and the ticket prices.

I dont remember exactly how much I paid for tickets in 2006 for Jacksonville show, I want to say $77 but don't remember if that was before or after fees.

Got the cheaper seats this time for Orlando. $45 + fees + $58. Bought presale. The $90 were GA only, no other option. Could have waited for seats on the side of the arena at lower level to be available but didn't for fear they all would sell out fast. That didn't happen. I'm too old for GA at this point standing in a crowd for 2-3 bands for 6+ hrs is not appealing.

At least I get a full view from the stage where I am sitting, 2nd section of lower level behind GA. Way I look at it, they have big screens and it is a basketball arena, not a football field!
