We got Estranged, what more could we want?

The thing is, IMO, so many people got their hopes up for new songs, even though the band at no point said any would be played, and so they moan at the lack of new material. I think the setlist is great as it is.

Im shocked IRS wasnt on the setlist, im watching Sorry now, and axl seems out of breathe a good amount, i expect as the shows start rolling out he will get back into form, but another hiatus would be the end of axl it seems.

And i am VERY happy about Estranged, that is fuckin awesome they are playing that

Imagine if U2 had spent the last 11 years touring Boy plus a few songs from October and a small handful of 10-year-old 'new' songs.

Imagine if Maiden had spent the last 11 years touring Iron Maiden plus a few songs from Killers and a small handful of 10-year-old 'new' songs.

Imagine if Metallica had spent the last 11 years touring Kill 'Em All plus a few songs from Lightning and a small handful of 10-year-old 'new' songs.

Every single fucking show for the last 11 years: Jungle, Easy, Brownstone. It's a crock.

I think Chinese is one of the greatest rock records ever but the bloke on stage at Rio last night would have gotten booed off the karaeoke at my local pub. He had no business being on the grandest stage in the world.

After Estranged I really got my hopes up for more surprises. At least 1 surprise is not bad. Kinda weird though not to mix it up a little before such a huge show. I just don't understand why they couldn't rehearse together before.

It had all the features of a CASH GRAB!!!

I don't get that impression.

A cash grab is where people just phone in their show and go on autopilot. Van Halen did a cash grab tour, but everyone knew that any show could've been the last show because of Ed's mood swings and Dave's loud mouth. But the fact is they kept their setlist the same for a whole year says a lot about it, and they made close to 100 million. But compared to the 1984 tour, which was filled with bullshit - it was much better.

People don't get pissed off at cash grab shows, they just do their set, don't really acknowledge the crowd, play an hour and a half, and don't do encores. People there got a GNR show, but I don't know if it was a shortened setlist or Estranged made them drop a couple of songs.

I also don't expect bands who play festivals to play past an hour. You have a full day of music, hours of headlining acts back to back, so you're paying for the day of music you're hearing.

GNR should've done the I Heart Radio show because it would've been as much money as they made at RIR.

If Axl continues to put new music out, you know he's going to start dropping the old songs from the setlist, or just put 2 or 3 in there, esp. if there's 40-50 songs in the "works in progress" pile. Or- someone's just going to leak them.
