wkuk04 Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 http://www.nme.com/news/guns-n-roses/59864Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has revealed that the band's former guitarist Slash was pretty loose with his bladder control. Speaking to fans in Paraguay in a video which you can see by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking, Rose opens up about his backstage antics with Slash during their band's heyday in the '80s. Apparently, Rose told fans, he would hang around his guitarist and whichever girl he had brought backstage with him that night until Slash got so drunk that he wet himself and the singer would then steal the girl from him. He says in the video of Slash's backstage habits: "It was great, because he would pass out and piss his pants, and then I would get to be with the girl. So I always followed Slash because I knew he would pass out and I would get the girl. The girl would be like, 'Ah, he just peed in my bed!' and I’d be like, 'It’s okay, it’s okay.' The next day he would just ignore it. He says it in his book, like once, but no – it happened every time, all the time." The pair haven't spoken for at least 10 years and this particular revelation is unlikely to bring a much talked about reunion of the original Guns N' Roses line-up any closer to happening. Shabby Journalism anyone?
The Glow Inc. Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Honestly...I...can see why Axl doesn't want to talk at times. How can a genuinely innocent video of Axl shooting memories with fans can be turned into something so negative.

I agree. But its NME. They've always had a hard on for GNR and Axl.
Graeme Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I don't really see the problem... they reported what went on in the video pretty much word for word...
twenty-nine Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I don't really see the problem... they reported what went on in the video pretty much word for word... I'm with you. I don't see what's shabby journalism about this at all. I guess if you're looking for something you'll find it, though.
James Bond Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I don't really see the problem... they reported what went on in the video pretty much word for word... Agreed. They don't bash Axl or Slash, and they quote the video exactly. Nothing wrong with that.
The Glow Inc. Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Except for the last sentence which clearly suggests that Axl meant that in a malignant way, with a harmful agenda maybe ?
wkuk04 Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 Except for the last sentence which clearly suggests that Axl meant that in a malignant way, with a harmful agenda maybe ?Exactly. Check out the comments below.
dalsh327 Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Axl's story is similar to Ted Nugent's. He said his bandmates were always wasted, he didn't do drugs, so he would just take girls left and right from them. I think it's kind of asinine that this is a news story, but you'd never hear him having a conversation otherwise. Maybe he'll get curious about Livestream.
axlsalinger Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 This is so not a big deal. All they did was report what was said in the video.
SunnyDRE Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Well I don't agree with the sentiment that the press is out to get Axl, but NME gets this wrong.

Shabby Journalism anyone? How is it "Shabby Journalism"? He basically stated what was in the video and said that he and Slash hadn't spoken in 10 years. So a media outlet posted about the video. So what?
James Bond Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Except for the last sentence which clearly suggests that Axl meant that in a malignant way, with a harmful agenda maybe ?It doesn't though. It says this is not any more likely to bring about a "much talked about" reunion. I see this as speculation on the writer's part, implying that if Slash hears that Axl is telling these embarrassing stories he probably won't want to work with him. It's a neutral statement.
FuddMckagan Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Ah, the media. They really will jump on anything, won't they.
Mastodonny Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 This progress from Axl. Before he never had anything remotely positive to say about Slash.
Ali Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Well I don't agree with the sentiment that the press is out to get Axl, but NME gets this wrong.Really? I think the press tends to portray anyone in a negative light that doesn't "play ball" with them, and Axl certainly doesn't play ball - he rarely, if ever, does press.Ali
kyrie Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Actually I don't think NME did anything wrong there. You want shoddy journalism, the chick on Edge102 in Toronto butchered this story on the air today.
Young_Gun Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 It was inevitable really... Blabbermouth, NME, TMZ... They are today's Parader, Circus Magazine etc.
SunnyDRE Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Actually I don't think NME did anything wrong there.I agree. After re-reading the story, I don't see anything wrong with it. They aren't bashing Axl as so much as reporting on the video.I do think this video has been blown out of proportion though (on Gnr boards)....it is much ado about nothing. I'm labeled as the biggest hater/cupcake on here (a label I think is unfair), but I just don't see anything wrong with Axl's story. It's fun and kinda cool; It brings him down to our level and actually makes him seem human. We all have stupid stories about present and past friends and we like to tell them to family, co-workers, and girlfriends. That's life folks..I have no doubt if Slash sees the video he will "heart it." Edited October 19, 2011 by SunnyDRE
wasted Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Slash pissing his pants and Axl stealing his girl doesnt look great for Slash. It's a bit embarrassing really. I think we really want a reunion. Edited October 19, 2011 by wasted
dtjmf13 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 thats was cool, its nice to see Axl talkin about the old days and jokin about it, he wasnt being negative at all considering what his relationship with Slash is... FUCK NME!
w6a6x6l6 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 This progress from Axl. Before he never had anything remotely positive to say about Slash.since when is pissing your pants positive?
Georgy Zhukov Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Pissing yourself drunk is a pretty common thing. NME writes shit like they've never been bombed off their ass. Fucking indie jizz rag mag.
packersnroses Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I just heard my local radio DJ comment on this, saying that it's not cool to brag about it. Are you kidding me? He was joking around with fans, having fun, and they still try to make him look bad.
