So I'm seeing shows in Hartford, Albany and Worcester, and I was wondering when do people usually start lining up to get in the first couple of rows or so? ...based on the experiences of those of you who have been to any of these venues or any Guns shows in general? I went to see Slash at the Warfield in '10 and I was in the first row, people were already lining up like 3 hours before the doors opened, I got there 2 hours before the show and worked out well...but that was a lot smaller show...so any advice?

I'm not the type to line up to get up close any more. But yeah, if you're gonna do it, I'd say about 2 hours would be fine.

I'm kind of a "stand back by the sound board" type of dude these days so I'll probably get to the venues around 7 or 8 for this tour.

In Rio 2010, I got there at 9AM, got third row, great view, pictures and it was definitely worth it.

That's awesome. I can dig that for such a large ass festival crowd for sure.

For GnR in Paris I was in line 4 hours before the show and only got to be on the second row.

The real dilemma is gettin hydrated. If you drink during the wait you don't die, but then you have to pee, which might lead you to leave your row...

I've noticed they line up A LOT earlier in Europe than over here though. For Maiden, when we win First To The Barrier (A fan club contest where 150 winners are guaranteed to be let into the venue before the rest of the crowd) we'll line up an hour before doors open for FTTB winners, and be within the first 5 people in line. In the UK, we'd queue for FTTB 4 hours before doors open for winners, and be about 10th in line. Got to the O2 6 hours early for the last night of the tour, and that got us to be 5th in line.

Wait if I got ga tickets for east Rutherford is that standing room only? If so when would you line up for that? I want to be close but not getting crushed as I will be with my girlfriend and she's not down for that

I've never lined up for a show. Just push your way to the front once it starts. It's not that hard. Axl comes on so late that people are half comatose anyway.

you should be fine with 3-4 hours. It all depends on the band and the size of the venue. I had a friend who lined up 36 hours, that's right, a day and half early to get in the front show for Green Day at Giants Stadium, and was far from the only one there. The younger the fan base the crazier they are. The Pit section of the Hartford show is so small I wouldnt even bother getting there that early, every spot in the pit is a great one there.

Lining up would just ruin the whole experience. I've never gone early and lined up for any show I've ever been to. You are best to chill at the hotel and drink for as long as possible. Don't even bother going into the arena before 10 pm.

When I saw them at the Hammerstein, I got in line around 9am. The doors didnt open till bout 8or9 pm. It was worth it! I was in the very front of the rail. Met some great die hard fans infront of that line. We held our spots while we got some grub. Good times!

lower GDP per capita = longer the queue

I went to the Oslo concert last year. Went there 15 minutes before the concert and I was in the first row

That's just awesome. I love when fans help each other out like that!
