Use Your Delusion 1
GNR has the biggest feud in Rock, Oasis is nothing compared to the Axl-Slash hate
Damn_Smooth
There is a huge difference between being actual brothers and being former friends. I thought everyone here was smart enough to realize that a Gn'R reunion will not take place by now.

GNR123GNR456
I guarantee you Axl won't reunite to increase ticket sales or for money. Same goes for Slash. Both of them have had pretty successful careers apart and both seem to be resentful towards a reunion. It'll have to be with 100 percent heart and truth, not for money. They would both have to agree to be on the same terms, and I don't think that will happen. Slash has said to dislike the way Axl comes out late on stage, but Axl still does it. It's easier to reunite with a family member than with a former friend. Especially that both of them have had some not so good things to say to eachother, and how Axl views Slash as a cancer is not something Slash will take lightly. A reunion will only happen if both men reconcile and put their past differences aside. That alone will probably very hard to do.This topic should go here: http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showforum=186 Edited October 21, 2011 by GNR123GNR456
gnrfan2007
Really? GnR is selling out every around the world! In some parts of the USA, they are doing well as well. But the USA is a whole different beast than the rest of the world. You need to be a media whore to be relevant in the USA.This is how Axl could sell tickets! gnrfan2007
A reunion is the WORST thing Axl could do to GnR!People seem to forget that GnR became IRRELEVANT because of the OLD band.If you want GnR to be bashed by music critics and new music/new rock fans, and where you are embarass to confess to being a GnR fan, then yeah, pray for a reunion. But if you want GnR to continue to be *cool*, pray that GnR will release MODERN music for a long time to come. And remember, Slash opened his bad mouth attacking Axl first. Axl's not going to be the one begging Slash, Slash will be the first to beg to be taken back ... oh wait, Slash did do that already! LMAOA reunion will always be the best solution if done correctly. Is it likely at this point? Odd aren't in our favor. But, since nu guns haven't really broken ground yet, the possibility will always be there. I DON'T want a reunion if it's forced by a paycheck. Axll's just gotta stop being sucha cry baby. I think if they just sat down most of their problems could get resolved. If he could forgive duff and izzy, who both talked shit and booked on axl, why can't he for slash?
gnrfan2007
Axl is an introvert ... a very private person who doesn't allow many to get close. The only person in the old lineup that Axl was really close to was Izzy because they grew up together. Remember, that Axl and Izzy founded GnR. Slash and Duff *joined* the band to *replace* other people (like Traci Guns). So, the claim that Axl was really close to Slash and Duff is overrated. They were friends at the time, but they were not best friends, like brothers. So the bond between Axl and Slash was never really a strong bond to begin with. So don't expect that they will find a way to come back together.Axl and the old band don't see reunion the same way as some of you do.It wasn't just a band to them, they had a life together. They were friends. We were just a crowd enjoying a show. A ridiculously small time of their time that we witnessed. We can't put Guns N' Roses into real perspective, only the band can.Talking about this is still as pointless as ever;Axl doesn't want a reunion. Thus, a reunion is impossible. Edited October 21, 2011 by gnrfan2007
ITW 2012
You gotta remember that Noel and Liam have still got a mother in common. Besides, Axl would view a reunion as admitting defeat.

WhazUp
So the bond between Axl and Slash was never really a strong bond to begin with. So don't expect that they will find a way to come back together. But here is the thing: nobody knows the bond they had except for the them. Who are we to speculate about their personal relationship? None of us were there, none of us know what is going on in their heads, so we really can't comment on the "true" status of how they felt towards each other Edited October 21, 2011 by WhazUp

I think if they just sat down most of their problems could get resolved. If he could forgive duff and izzy, who both talked shit and booked on axl, why can't he for slash? The best solution is for many people that want a reunion to move on. A GN'R reunion is borderline impossible, because of the many things both Axl and Slash have said to put each other down in the media. It's not something that can just happen, Slash and Axl both have to work on each other's terms. Axl still comes on stage late, Slash doesn't like that. Slash is still played blue's influenced hard rock, Axl want's to be diverse. They both have their different taste and influences, they both have their different stories as well on how it all ended. The reason Axl patched things with Izzy is because they were friends for a long time, with Duff it's probably because Duff never used the media to paint Axl the bad guy. I don't remember Duff ever saying anything remotely critical about Axl in the media. Axl even said in the Del James interview that he could see working with Duff again, but Slash is impossible. I think it'll take alot more than a "I'm sorry," from either of them. The constant bashing Slash did on Axl after he left GN'R, plus the cancer remark from Axl, aren't stuff that going to be easy to put under the rug.A reunion will have to both Axl and Slash being committed to it 100%. Plus, there's Izzy who hardly ever tours, and Steven who might kill himself if they used Matt over him. I can't see it lasting as long as people think it'll last because Axl will have to change to be on Slash's standards, or vice versa. Plus, it'll be considered defeat for Axl and the last decade would've been a waste of time. If it happens, cool. But I wouldn't wait and pray for it because it'll be a long time until it happens, if it ever does happen.

But I wouldn't wait and pray for it because it'll be a long time until it happens, if it ever does happen. There's a point when the fans feel the band's getting older and won't do it. That's when Pink Floyd and Van Halen did it. The truth is, Axl can do anything at any time as far as reunions go. But I think the reason why he wouldn't do it right now, is that he's content with the musicians he does have, and dealing with one former bandmember at a time as a guest appearance is easier than dealing with all of them in one room. He already mentioned he didn't like Izzy discussing money issues with his tour manager, so we have no idea if he'll ever be showing up at any future shows. It's prob. going to come down to a mutual friend of the band as a reason for them to come together, or something to do with AFD, and maybe play a song together. It might wind up being a private event. The Rock Hall induction is still a question mark, and odds are Axl will just have someone read his thank yous for him or he'll be up on the video screen live or pre-recorded. I do think we'll see a reason for a reunion show to happen or a few songs, but when people talk about a reunion tour, that's highly unlikely. Too much wheeling and dealing to make that happen. It's not borderline impossible when Slash and Axl live and work in the LA area (and yeah I know Malibu is a hike, and his watering holes are prob. closer to home than where TMZ stalkerazzi go). I'd like to see Duff and Izzy write some songs with Axl, maybe that would be good for the next album. Even if they wouldn't be in the band, I can't see why they couldn't be anywhere in the world and do it from the comfort of their homes, or just hang out for a couple of weeks and work on some sessions, then go on their way. I don't know how it would go with Loaded being opening act, and having Duff join Axl on stage for a few songs every night, maybe that will happen...
