Are you not familiar with Sammy's background?

The man makes money - end of story.

Sammy managing GnR would be one of the best things to ever happen to GnR fans.

New band, reunited old band, whatever version of the band is available.

This.

Sam would know what to do. He's dealt with the VH brothers, he has the patience.

Never been a real fan of the guy, but I just read Sammy's book Red a few weeks ago, and IF there ever was a reunion, he'd be a great choice. He's been there and done that in so many ways. Like said previously, dealt with the crazy dysfunction of Ed and Al, had his strings jerked about by Azoff, and made his money a hundred different ways. He seems very mature and level headed, along with coming off as sincere, which can be a rare quality for a rocker as large as he. So, OP, my ass is still very well attached, and you should check his book out for sure.

Sammy is a real genuine guy, and anybody who knows him or has met him always seems to say the same thing. He probably exaggerates some of his pre-Van Halen career a bit in his book (like, he'll say he sold out arenas as a solo artist, which he technically DID, but not just him alone with say an opener or whatever) but aside from that he comes of as very level headed and has a good outlook on everything. He's the kind of guy who can see things from all sides. Reunion or not, he knows what he's doing.

Azoff was his manager for 20 years. They should have asked if it was a good idea for GNR to use his manager.

Hagar's 64 and he's almost as good as he has ever been. He Ustreamed a bunch of birthday shows a couple of weeks ago.

I think most of the shows he does now he lines up himself, but he doesn't play arenas, and he's not above corporate sponsorship. But he doesn't tour for the money, even though he has 3 or 4 houses, but sold off the tequila company for around 100 mil. He gradually offloaded it, but imagine he still has some stake in the company as far as licensing the name goes, b/c he still owns the bars.
