ITW 2012
Is anybody else not all that big a fan of the live versions of SCOM and PC? For whatever reason I find them not to be all that memorable live. However, Rocket Queen and Nightrain always blow me away. And Jungle and November Rain are usually stellar. KOHD is the centerpiece of the show though. That's when you really get to hear what makes Axl's voice so special.

KOHD is the centerpiece of the show though. That's when you really get to hear what makes Axl's voice so special. He can't sing SCOM very well live and hasn't really been able to since the 80's. PC is always good live though - great song and Axl hitting the notes on this one before the guitar madness is a great moment. It's like a party. Hate the KOHD version of the new band. Over-long, over-indulgent, pointless band-wank of a song that never goes anywhere. Handy if you need a piss mid-set though. November Rain is inconsistent these days, it depends how Axl's doing on the night. LOVE Rocket Queen and Jungle is probably Axl's most consistant song from any era (bar the micky mouse years perhaps). He always delivered Jungle. Nightrain from the new band is awesome, I think I prefer the 2006 version the best. It was awesome to hear Axl nail Nightrain with Rasp again after hearing the piss-weak squeeks from 2001-2. I think for forgetable songs Live and Let Die gets my vote. Which is a testiment to Axl's improvement from 2002, because back then it was pretty much the highlight for the big note he pulled out of nowhere on this one. Now it's just meh. And it's a cover. KOHD is not forgettable it's just shit and should be removed.
Cosmo
I think PC and SCOM are both awesome live. They're the songs 'casual' fans all sing along to and that people get most pumped about, along with WTTJ. I'm not a fan of the live versions of Sorry, This I Love, Street Of Dreams (most times) and Patience. The rest is all good to me. Love KOHD, especially the sing along part, love LaLD, with the explosions and Axl's screams.

ITW 2012
This version of KOHD always blows me away. And I was also lucky enough to be at this particular show. Edited November 4, 2011 by ITW 2012
YOUCOULDBEMINE.
Sweet Child with the clean voice is much better than Sweet Child with the rasp. Fit's the original.
RussTCB
I was just telling someone the other day about how SCoM is my new "bathroom break" song. I get it; it's a classic, they have to play it, blah blah blah. I've just heard it 7000 times and it doesn't at all excite me anymore. Seeing as I'm not a DJ fan, this means I can run to the rest room when he solo starts, then grab a beer and be back by the time SCoM is over. ppruks
Haven't seen Guns live YET and that's about to change soon, but judging from the videos I'd say that Download Nightrain 2006 and Rock Am Ring Nightrain 2006 put all other Nightrains in shame...it's fucking perfect! it's exactly how I want to hear that song every time...also Robin and Bumble do some cool fills toward the end in the solo section...starts at 4:23...it's so fucking cool With regards to Paradise City...I wasn't a fan of the song during the 2006 tour...but got back into during the Canadian tour a year agoSCOM...I'm love the song and I'm very excited to be hearing it this month...I think the song really starts working for me at the beginning of the main solo and my favorite part is the coda...the way Axl hits those notes is amazing...and I listen to that part every timeand with regards to KHOD...I agree that it's an amazing song....I listen to the live version every day...the audience participation part is my fav and those vocal fills Edited November 4, 2011 by ppruks
wasted
I was more blown away by Street of Dreams and IRS. PC is a great closer and Child is a fun singalong. I wouldn't mind them closing with TWAT.

SLAA
Yeah I totally agree with that actually. On the other hand, songs that wouldn't normally be my favourite from the albums can sound great live. I've two different mental lists. Live and album. SCOM sounds pretty meh live, but on the other hand that's just my perception from YouTube. Bad Obsession is a song I love too see performances of i.e., even though it's not one of the better on the record. trqster
SCOM is a really shitty live song....always was & always will be. PC on the other hand is really great and always awesome to watch live. The other song I don't really like live is November Rain, especially because Axl's singing's nothing like the (brilliant) album version, where he uses a perfect raspy mid-tone voice that really suits the song. Mfegz
worst song live is "street of dreams" they should drop that and play "twat" or "prostitute" can't understand how "sod" gets played over those two masterpieces !!
DaneisKing1389
In terms of Sweet Child, I think the 2006 versions are my favorites. Axl obviously sang it better then than he has on the other 77 legs of the Chinese Democracy tour over the last 10 years, but I'd even rank it amongst the best he's ever done. And I like Finck on guitar. I think I'd rather listen to his playing over DJ's any day. Felt like Finck added more of his own flair into it while playing, whereas DJ plays it almost identical to Slash minus the feel for the song. It lacks to me.This is just an example of 2006. Baltimore is another good one if I remember correctly.
Guest ben9785
I'm not too big on SCOM or PC myself, I appreciate the quality but they don't do anything for me.. Especially the live versions.. I think "Nighttrain" and "There Was A Time" (with a longer jam after the end of the 'proper solo', trade off leads etc) would be two great set closers. ITW 2012
I'm not trying to say that they shouldn't play two of their biggest hits. It's just funny how some songs take on a whole new life live, while others kind of wither on the vine, so to speak.
