grogmug Posted November 9, 2011 Share Posted November 9, 2011 I feel lucky, because the show I'm attending is on a Friday in Cincinnati, OH and Axl doesn't have another show until Sunday, which hopefully means he is more than likely going to stay there and party somewhere. Has anyone had any luck tracking down Axl after shows, or does he just go into hiding somewhere? Anyone know any spots Axl and co. could be partying at after the show besides backstage? He may fly out after show...who knows. Probably hub somewhere (Chicago etc...). These days alot of bands/frontmen do it that way. Jon Bon Jovi is known to hub, Bob Segar flies home almost nightly to Michigan after each show (within reason...). Alot of bands fly in couple hours before show and are audi shortly after. Who knows, I could be off base on Axl. Not alot of sightings/reports of him at local bars on tour so far. I know back in the day they'd pop up at local dive (hipper ones) bars and play acoustic shit. I just want a picture with the guy, I'm not trying to stalk him little buddy, just want to try and bring my crew and party it up with GN'R if possible. guns3131 Posted November 10, 2011 Share Posted November 10, 2011 I was at the show in Hamilton a few years back and the courtyard around the venue is pretty small and the buses were parked on the street. GnR didnt have a show for a few days and there were a dozens of people waiting after the show. I got to talking to the security guards and they said Axl, as soon as he said 'goodnight' ran out the door, into a van and took off for the hotel. I know back in the day they'd pop up at local dive (hipper ones) bars and play acoustic shit.he's been 'hubbing' out of dallas since the miami show. don't know if he's still here...wouldn't be surprised since it's a short flight from here to many of the upcoming tour dates. my wife, coincidentally, found out what hotel he's camping out at here. When anyone throws themselves into their performance, they can be completely psychotic right before and right after. Some people are thinking about what to eat back at the hotel while they're in the middle of the show. There's guys who have that intensity on stage where they're a short fuse the entire time. It's nerves, and sometimes nerves can keep people from performing because they get so sick and worked up about going on stage. I'm pretty sure Axl has his routines, and if something's off, he starts overthinking it. I think one of his biggest fears is going out on stage, and - nothing. He knows he has a special voice, no one else can sing the songs the way he does them, you can have imitators that get it close but not for the amount of time he's doing it for. You can tell he loves perforning though. There's no doubt RIR ate at him, and prob. why he eventually agreed to doing TMS. I don't completely buy that it came out of nowhere and they had brought it up to him before, and he prob. either didn't answer or just said he didn't know.
