Do you think Axl's got a magic number in mind?

Do you think Axl's got a magic number in mind? How many copies does CD need to sell in America before he ends the CD Tour and releases CD II? I get the sense that Axl's going to keep the CD Tour going until the album goes platinum (sales, not units shipped) in the US.

I think he's going to keep the campaign going till he goes platimun.

Interesting theory I suppose, that is if people could actually buy the CD in the US :shrugs:

Seriously, what store can one buy it in?

Yeah places have it but, not everywhere so if they are waiting for certain ammounts to be sold, it might not be a good plan?

I think something else is brewing

I guess this is a response to the post I deleted where I gave a link to Target's site. After I posted that, I realized it said "not sold in stores" at the bottom of the page. So I deleted it. Figures.

Nope.

Seeing as you can't buy Chinese Democracy in the US right now, I'm assuming he shouldn't be looking for more sales.

Sure hope so. Personally, I'm hoping he puts out a CD-Era set featuring the other unreleased tracks from that era, and let's the new band start new with fresh songs and ideas for the next actual record.

Edit: IMO, putting out the other CD Era tracks in a set would be a really smart way to tide the fans over while we're waiting for the them to record the next album

You can buy it very easily online 165 CD copies on Ebay right now 1,758 Results for Chinese Democracy on Amazon but some of these won't count towards the figures. I'm sure some are in US second hand shops and a load of online music websites

I forgot it had disappeared from Best Buy. Where is CD?

I guess Axl thought that it just wouldn't be a real Chinese Democracy Tour if you were able to walk into a store and buy a copy of the album?

I don't think artistic relevance is at the forefront, ya know? CD was essentially a bunch of incidental leaks capped with 3 random tracks.

I really wish Axl took the "Oh My God" approach, and persevered with an awesome, creative record that had no ties to GN'R. He was talented, ambitious, youngish, pissed off, and had something to prove. Would it not have been cool to see Axl in an intimate club with a few L.A. musicians jamming weird 'Axl' songs? But the current material speaks for itself. I think between label pressure, lawsuits, recording loans, and the press having their way with him - it crippled the simplicity of playing live music. And more importantly - playing whatever he felt like. We ended up with, essentially, an Axl solo record with too much polish. It tried pleasing too many critics, and it failed.

But therein lie the true GN'R spirit. A lyrical ethos based on self-destruction, and youth - by definition alone - cannot last forever.
