2x4
Umm I think ChD is also Brain and Frank.I remember hearing that they added Frank to the beginning.Yeah I'm pretty sure you're right there. The drums from the demo were Brain only but I'm sure the Studio version was both Brain N' Frank. By the way, I'm loving all these drumming threads lately. Not enough love for the back bone of every band.
Flayer
I really wish pop music producers would just invest in getting a real damn drummer instead of their machine. Any time you hear a real rock band cover a pop song their live drums sound way better than the generic machine beats they use over and over again. So sick of that stupid, repetitious, no tone dynamics bass thudding one or two notes the entire song. Bands without drummers are indeed bands without backbone (and by that I mean those who make a half-assed effort with a drum machine to substitute, not those who actually write strong electronic drum parts or those who play music without drums).Josh's playing wasn't ultimately included but he got a bunch of arrangement credits where Brain or maybe Frank played off the parts he recorded. Freese also has drums on Oh My God. Edited November 21, 2011 by Flayer

31illusions
interesting how Josh freese is the link between Axl and Slash. He played (or wrote) the drums on both of their albums.
Flayer
interesting how Josh freese is the link between Axl and Slash. He played (or wrote) the drums on both of their albums.Through unobjectable and well-intentioned comments such as these, the path is then laid to the pissant cockfight of everybody's personal interpreation of the Axl Slash relationship, like reenactors of the Civil War fighting the same stupid, hurtful battles again and again for an audience of their fellow obsessives and a few indifferent spectators and the excited kids asking "Daddy, daddy, I want to see The General! When are we going to see The General?"This was supposed to be going towards a warning towards any jackass who wants to off and start that shit that this thread is about fucking drums. But honestly, I'm fucked. I don't howe how to make any coherent sense out of this. I really should go to sleep for everyone's good. But I have shit to do and I should stop multi-tasking on this forum. Why, why must it be so easier to write half-logical rants in run on sentences about GnR than to write my goddamn theology paper?I'm gonna look at all my posts tomorrow and just hopelessly facepalm. All that aside, considering how Axl and Slash would have met a lot of the same names in their GnR years together, I bet he's just one of many connections who've continued to work with both. Maybe not actual musicians, but producers and other people.

Georgy Zhukov
Josh's known contribution to the band is Oh My God right? I think he was credited to "drum arrangements" for CD but the actual drumming was mostly Brain. They might as well used a drum machine instead of having to hire Matt Sorum. Not enough love for the back bone of every band.I haven't listened to the demo in a while but I'm pretty sure it's Frank on the whole song. Brain does double snare hits consistently throughout the song whereas Frank only does them during the guitar solo. There's also a consistency to the drum sound which suggests Frank did the whole thing.
Flayer
You know I'm sure the sympathy wheel will eventually reach Matt Sorum as well. There might be a day when all members of past and present lineups will actually be respected on here.
