People on the board will come up with the idea that they need to play new songs and announce an album on Vegas, then they will be disappointed when nothing happens and they'll say that Guns let them down when they never even promised anything in the first place.

I think it'll just be a normal show.

Did anybody think the same for the RIR show? I remember in 2009 he specifically said that he wants to tour CD a little longer.

I don't think they will play new songs (Rio would've been the perfect place for that) but if they will play "Oh My God" on this tour, I think it might be played here.

Other than that, it'll be just another date. Who know's, maybe when the New Year hits (if their still playing at that time) they could play a surprise, but I wouldn't get any hopes up.

Still, I can't help but imaging after Estranged he will say "This is a new song...The General!"

Alot of people thought that GN'R would've played a new song at Rio, they didn't. Whether it was because of the weather or Axl not being prepared, they didn't. I think it was the perfect place to debut a new song or two, but it was not to be.

And still, they haven't debuted any new songs after Rio. It's a slight possibility that this could be history repeating itself and they could play 3 or 4 new songs from the Buckethead/Finck era to make people wait until they tour again and give a little taste of things to come. Than take a break to record music for a new album.

But, it could also be just another show and the last for a while. Oh My God is the only possible song that could be played that is "new" IMHO.

I think he wants to give CD some closure before he can move on...if he ever does.

Axl said on the TMS interview that there's a reason there is no video's out for Chinese Democracy and that is because he wants people to listen to the music first. So, if that means he's still living in that mindset that this album is relatively new, then it's not necessarily not good for the fans who want new music, but it's makes sense because it took so long to get the album out and it was a struggle to get it out. Maybe Axl doesn't feel like he ready to move on from a album that he worked every hard on? Maybe he is, but there's problems with the record company and that's prolonging a new album? Maybe the "There will be new album in 2012" was really Axl, but they said it wasn't him because the band doesn't want to spill the beans to early in advance?

Who knows, really? I think this could possibly be the last tour that is supporting Chinese Democracy, and after they go into "writing mode" as Tommy said, they could release a new album in 2013 at the latest. Maybe they could release a new single as well? Maybe they could release a live DVD?

I believe that Axl probably has atleast a dozen or so songs done with vocals. I think Axl just wants to add DJ's part to the album to make it a full band thing.

Axl talked about Chinese Democracy being a double album..... So i think axl layed vocals in more 10 tracks +-

Axl also said in the Eddie Trunk radio interview in 2006 that they were working on a song for the "third album."

Seems to be some hype around it. I know when they performed in 2001 at Vegas they were a hit.

It's a 4000 person capacity, it's GNR, it's New Years, and maybe the end of the tour. Plus you can't beat the price for a New Years show. Maybe there will be more shows, but it seems like they want to end the tour in Vegas.

I can see this show turning into one of the longest they've ever done.

I really, REALLY hope it will mark the end of the Chinese Democracy tours.

Not that I didn't like them...I loved the show I attended. I just hope they move on and enter writing mode like Tommy said...

As do I.

I hope this tour can be the last of the Chinese Democracy Era, and when they start touring again their playing new songs in the set-list.

Yeah that sounded like a BS excuse. What happened to the whole "Better" video where he wanted to release it in 08/09?

It's not a huge venue and it's not being broadcast anywhere (to be the best of my knowledge). I'm sure GNR will be fired up for New Year's Eve and all, but I think that's probably the extent of it being important. It could be a special show if they play some new material or play even longer than usual, but I don't know that it's all that important. I hope I'm wrong, but that's how I see it.
