Flayer Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 The asshole song? Really? I'm pretty sure that was just a joke bit.
axlsalinger Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) Speaking of 'Silkworms', this thread made me want to hear it again, although the original live clip I heard previously was from a terrible recording. Did some digging, and it looks like somebody has cleaned up the live clip quite nicely in the first clip here. The second one is listed as a remix, not sure who did it, if they added the intro themselves or what. The third clip is listed as a "studio" clip of the intro. I don't know the story behind it as I've never heard of this clip before. Would certainly be real interesting to hear a finished version of the song. "Listen motherfuckers to this song that should be heard."Silkworms (from what I can tell, it's the live version, but cleaned up quite nicely) Silkworms (Remix) Third Clip:Silkworms (Intro-Studio)www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3AYn_mCzao& Edited December 12, 2011 by axlsalinger
Apollo Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Please Axl or GnR if you read this.....no Silkworms or oh my god. New song. Or coma, prostitute, perfect crime, yesterdays.
snconnolly Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Please, please, please let us hear Oh My God before we ever hear Silkworms
UltraMav Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I'd really like to hear a studio version of the song. It definitely has potential. If Axl dropped the faux accent and got really aggressive sounding it could work as a UYI-esque false-bravado song. It's probably been abandoned at this point, I imagine. Also, I'd much rather hear Oh My God again as well, awesome song that just needs a proper solo.
Flayer Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Silkworms is in dire need of another verse or two.
Down on the Shore Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I'd bet money that they never play that song again
wasted Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Supposedly Bucket added a new solo and it's great.
Laparka Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I'd bet money that they never play that song againChris Fuckin' Pittman said once that Silkworms would end on the 3rd part of the holy trinity of GnR albums
Cosmo Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 He needs to change the verses or at least the way he sings it. Could use the Shackler's voice. That would make it a lot darker.
auad Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 In fact the artist have the oblogation to play what people wants to hear.no need for tanx...
Guest gunns5 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Listen motherfuckers to this song that should be played!

Down on the Shore Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 was probably the worst song of CD, maybe its just me but i really dont like Silkworms, it just doesnt feel like Guns N' Roses to me Its not that its better or worse that Rhiad or any of the other CD songs, it just feels like a completely different direction to what Axl has decided to go with. Like he's moved away from all that electronic stuff from 2001ish time and more onto rock again. I just cant imagine them playing it now anyway, at least not until after a new album which had the silkworms on it
Laparka Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Silkworms is My World with guitars in my opinion...And I LOVE My World!
Down on the Shore Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Haha fair enough, I actually cant listen to My World. I guess we both like this band for very different reasons

Down on the Shore Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 yer, if the world kinda reminded me a bit of double talkin jive or somthin like that. Im not knockin Silkworms as a song, i just cant see it making a comeback anytime soon
JimMorrison4 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Going out on a limb here.... I doubt the overwhelming majority of people at a GNR show would even know what Silkworms is. Usually, bands want the entire crowd to enjoy every song... not look at each other and go, "What the hell is this?" Silkworms would most likely get that kind of reaction. Unless they've completely re-done the song, and not make it sound like 5 different songs mashed up together, leave that one alone and either play an old song they haven't done before, or play a new song. I'd like to hear Coma because most GNR songs are too short (kidding).
Chewbacca Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I'm looking forward to see the new version of OMG, but Silkworms would also be a great surprise.

Flayer Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Silkworms would make a good subsitute for one of the jams.
