Didn't even know he had his own site. Dug around the site a bit and found this....

http://richardfortusonline.com/music/western%20-%20richardfortusonline%20-%20tonto%20electro%20mix%203%20-%20richard%20fortus.mp3

(Titled "western - richardfortusonline - tonto electro mix - richard fortus.mp3")

Wasn't "Tonto" one of the unreleased GN'R tracks mentioned by MSL?

Very different (especially the intro!) but sounds pretty good....

hmm...that could easily be something like "Instrumental #94", like what Dave Navaro talked about a few years back. A piece of a song that was scrapped, or temporarily shelved, and now it's on Fortus' solo stuff?

And maybe it's just my mind getting the better of me but some of those high pitched "singing" parts sound like Axl...

Had the studio version of the 007 theme for a few years, but thanks for sharing for everyone who hasn't heard it!

Another thing/fun fact for those who don't know, he actually recorded it exclusively for Guitar Hero: World Tour for the downloadable content - back in 2008 if memory serves me correctly.

I remember shortly before the 2009 shows, someone who witnessed either a sound check or a rehearsal said that Richard's solo spot would be a killer rendition of a popular theme song. We all knew it could only be one song, and being a lifelong Bond fan, I couldn't wait to hear him do it live.

Yep, that's when I found out about his rendition, can't imagine him doing something else as his solo spot. I'd love to see it make a film appearance (Maybe it can in Skyfall since they were already gearing up for release on Quantum Of Solace when he recorded it?), it'd be great for the outro credits. Everyone I've played it for says it's probably their favorite rendition since the original in Dr. No.

Now there's an idea! Nice way to close out the 50th anniversary by having Fortus' hard rock rendition blaring over the credits.

I think Silkworms was just the tip of the iceberg as far as how experimental Axl went with a bunch of these buried recordings...

There's the page he was probably digging around on.

Now here's something else interesting I found browsing through those.

It'd be cool if they used that and If The World, Axl always said that was his James Bond song. Too bad I think it got used on a different soundtrack, right?

I think If The World would be great as a Bond song but yeah it's already been used that being said if there is ever any new music made I'd love a nuGuns song to be a Bond theme. It would fit well I think as theyve certainly gone for a more 'rock' vibe for the last two what with Cornell and Jack White.

I didn't need to hack into any hidden code pages to find Tonto - good work tho, haha.

You can get there just by navigating the top frame. Click "interact" then "an index of music in the mp3 player".

I notice the "intro music" file isn't listed on this page, so maybe that is indeed something we weren't supposed to hear.

Wasn't Tonto a name MSL gave in his list that time?
