The Real McCoy
yeah yeah older I know.As for younger, Opeth are pretty coolIs it just me, or did Gilmour used to look just like Axl circa '90 - '91?
RandallFlagg
Haha throw a bandana on Dave and Axl could be more busy than we think!
Zint
My favourite band is older than GnR...
hbkdx1125
The Goo Goo Dolls. They formed a year after GN'R. Of course they have changed a lot since they started. Sweetest Lie from their most recent album Something For The Rest Of Us. So many good songs on that album.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXqxNMOB1Z4 Edited January 26, 2012 by hbkdx1125

KiraMPD
OasisIt's not from their last album but it is one of the songs that truly drew my attention to them..."The Importance of Being Idle" Edited January 26, 2012 by KiraMPD
bucketmaster101
Hmmm, well because I go through various phases it's really hard, but it would probably always be The Beatles. Cliched as hell I know, but fuck it!xXx
username
And the band can't be older than GNR.This is actually quite difficult... So basically nothing that was formed pre-86/87?Wait. This isn't difficult AT ALL! By the way, Flogging Molly also deserves a HUGE honorary mention. Edited January 26, 2012 by username

moreblack
The Black Crowes for me as well.I especially liked their 92-2001 era, I felt they came out with some great jammy experimental druggy stuff, but I haven't been able to get into any of their post-reunion work from Warpaint onwards...Their live album with Jimmy Page was stellar too. GivenToFly
I don't think it counts as an era when it's half of their career and contains most of their albums.I'm not crazy about Lions or Before The Frost-Until The Freeze, but Warpaint is pretty good. Still, Lions has Midnight From The Inside Out and Soul Singing. BTF-UTF doesn't really have anything. The best songs on that album would be among the average ones on their other albums. Powerage5
I don't even remotely have a favorite that's not older than GN'R. Anyhow, my favorite always has been and always will be Iron Maiden, as I'm sure everyone here already knows

NightProwler
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band by a huge margin. For many factors. The long, epic shows, the great catalogue, the amount of awesome bootlegs out there, tons of DVD's/Boxsets that are released and the fact that he has always been a fans first guy and treats us real fuckin well. GNR who is my second fav band should take note.
