With the announcement of the theater tour, New York takeover and all the other GNR excitement of late, I've been thinking more and more about the day I finally get to hold the second volume of Chinese Democracy in my hand. Here's what I've been wondering... should they use roman numerals, regular numbers, or spell it out? Should they use the word "part" in between "Democracy" and "II?"

Just curious what others think.

None of the above...

Why would they name it that ?

It would be stupid, though honest.

Self-titled is the way to go :xmasssanta:

Take a look 2 posts above yours. To me it's not about sending a fuck you to the haters, it's about the start of a new era.

I don't think it'll be called CD II at all, it'll be called something like: Down By The Ocean, The Seven Soul Monsters of Thyme Shrugged The Atlas Onto Oklahoma. The General Wept At This Monstrosity And A Checkmate Via The Ides Of March Propogated A Cock-A-Roach Soup Democracy To Be Suckerpunched By A Cornshuckler.

Guns N' Roses

if fact it is really the best name...

simply GUNS N ROSES. to assign that this is the band, and the present tense is that matters more.

CD II: The Adventures of Captain Hook & Blackbeard

although this band is actually made up of fantastic musicians, I have to say ... they dress badly, nothing goes with anything.

Well if it is CD sessions then no. If it is all new material then I'd go for that!

yes man. this name and just new and fresh music, i agree with you.

the cd sessions songs would be released as bonus tracks to new singles.

What do we know about the unreleased C.D. songs? Even when they release an album with only "new" songs it could contain some leftovers of the C.D. sessions. This happened before with songs like Don't cry, The garden, You could be mine, Bad obsession, This i love,...

Well the writing credits should some it up.

True. We might never know.

And that's why i like the idea of calling the next album Guns N' Roses. Chinese Democracy was imo not recorded by a band but by a mixture of several artists and they have to leave that behind. Why would it be such a big deal when DJ gets the credits for his guitarwork in a song like Ides of March for example?

We don't know anything about the unreleased songs and which artist wrote wich songs. DJ for example can rewrite the guitarparts of any song.

I think the likelihood of there being more Chinese Democracy albums are as likely as George Lucas doing the 7th 8th and 9th installment of Star Wars. I think if they gave Axl 2-3 more years to work on ChiDem, he prob. would've put a trilogy out, but life's short.

I'm sure once they work on songs, there will be a line in the song that'll stand out.
