With the passion that Ron already has for this song, added with the pain he's very evidently in as he progresses through the song I think this has to be the most emotional Dont Cry ever, right?

Not to mention, Axl absolutely fuckin nails it

Can anyone tell me which performance it was that Axl came out and surprised the crowd and Bumble in the middle of Bumble's solo by singing the end of Don't Cry? That video gave me chills the first time I watched it. I think it was from 2010 and it was the first time Don't Cry was sang in a long time.

Watching Ron in person made this super emotional, seeing him using the song to fuel himself up through the pain. Maybe not most emotional ever, but up there for sure.

I believe he didn't want to perform it anymore after one of his best friends Shannon Hoon (blind melon) died in 1994 or 95 I think, Shannon Hoon sang backing vocals and co wrote the song with him on UYI

I think he sang it three or so times in 2007 (that I remember at least). There's audio of Tokyo, a video or two of Osaka, and one more I think. I had to change the video quickly when I realized it was the wrong one.

Oh god, I remember watching that vid! I was grinning like an idiot for at least a week after watching that!

Wow... back when Bumble was still rocking the Flying V, feels like that was a million years ago! Good times.

Anyway, I'm really hoping for a live version of Don'r Cry at some point with Ron's intro/sing along bit. Something about a crowd of tone-def people singing along with him before Axl comes in is just... magical.
