finck6 Posted October 24, 2012 Share Posted October 24, 2012 Kickstarter, while a novel idea, would only receive a negative backlash along the lines that Axl can't get a record deal.according to MSL it's not about a record deal. it's not about money. axl is 1% wealthy. like Romney and friends. like Hollywood and Sports Superstars. it's not about that. because cd2 has been done a while. the songs have been written and recorded. cd2 is ready to go. it's been ready. but it's right now sitting on the shelf. collecting dust. why? like the beach boys say "god only knows" and god only knows why an album pre-recorded pre-2012 guns n roses lineup isn't out to purchase before upcoming vegas residency tour. First of all, there are often clauses in record contracts controlling how much new material can be debuted live before the album release. It's different for every band, but there could be something in the contract that would prevent what you're suggesting.But either way, it's not something I could see the band doing. They've done a good job of making sure whatever is on the next album, we haven't heard it (unless a reworked Silkworms ends up on it). I don't see them blowing that now.I think the cycle for Chinese ends overseas in December and then the wait will begin for the next record.Username -A new GNR album would surely sell millions of copies worldwide, so the idea that only forum members care about a new album is ridiculous.Downzy -When Axl re-emerged in 2009, he made it clear he has every intention to eventually release another album, but wanted to take his time with Chinese.MSL, seriously, I get taking your time with an album but Axl's been working on / with Chinese Democracy since before 1999 - and it ain't all that to be spending over 12+ years of your life with Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
