The Macaroni Incident?
From a November 22, 2002 Detroit Radio Interview...Interviewer: Are you doing any new stuff on the tour?Axl: We do about four or five songs that we've done at the various shows ... but we're still holding our big guns back...Interviewer: Is that right?Axl: Oh yeah..So what were the big guns or is Axl still holding them back? Georgy Zhukov
Why don't you ask him?I am guessing There Was a Time was one of them.
Chris 55
From a November 22, 2002 Detroit Radio Interview...Interviewer: Are you doing any new stuff on the tour?Axl: We do about four or five songs that we've done at the various shows ... but we're still holding our big guns back...Interviewer: Is that right?Axl: Oh yeah..So what were the big guns or is Axl still holding them back?I think that most of the tracklisting for CD was just based off the leaks with some other songs thrown in. Axl probably figured, "Well, if I put a lot of songs that didn't link on the album, that's even more songs that people have heard so there are fewer surprises down the road"That's my own take anyway
wasted
That interview was before the Better leak? Then Shacklers came out...to me they are all pretty big guns.
Georgy Zhukov
I think the leaks have nothing to do with what went on the album. They were in the finishing stages (vocals among the last to be added) so they were almost ready for the album. I think the other 13 or so tracks haven't even been mixed yet. drtydane
This I Love would have ruined the band if it had been released as a single. Its not a radio friendly tune, that much is obvious. Its definetly a beautiful song. Not sure if he was refering to til tho. Didn't Robin have to convince axl to include it b4 the album was pressed? EccoTides
I'd call Better, There Was a Time & Prostitute "big guns" for sure. Not sure if "This I Love" qualifies - Didn't Axl say that the guys really had to push him to include it on the album? Maybe its wishful thinking although the jackie chan clip lends some evidence to the fact......but I believe that the strongest tracks are still to come. Only time will tell. Jordan Rose
From a November 22, 2002 Detroit Radio Interview...So what were the big guns or is Axl still holding them back?Civil War & Estranged. You'd think so since they've now been played about 30 times more than Prostitute, Catcher or Twat by the current band. AXL_N_DIZZY
"Better", "TWAT", "Prostitute" and hopefully a few songs he ended up saving for future releases (should we be so blessed)...
Brodie
In my estimation, if "Chinese Democracy" didn't leak and was properly promoted and toured upon it would've gone down as a great record.Say... if it were released in 2002. *takes a drink*Let's hope he doesn't fuck it up this time.
