Young_Gun
Wasn't part of the lawsuit against Azoff that he was trying to get the old band together and had fired Robin? Or made Robin aware he wouldn't be around in the long run? That's a half-truth... He didn't necessarily fire Robin or make him aware Slash was coming back but that doesn't mean he made things easy for Robin. If he outright fired Robin than there would have been grounds for unfair dismissal.
wasted
maybe it was because Bucket n Brain left and he didn't fit in anymore. didn't he go to tour with NIN on their last tour.
Guest NewGNRnOldGNR
I think the lack of effective PR relates to the influence of Azoff as does the departure of Robin Finck. The entire fiasco of CD relates to the elaborate sabotage of one man. Edited May 14, 2012 by NewGNRnOldGNR
wasted
No video was labels fault. Axlngoing AWOL maybe just reaction to Azoff. The actual business side wasn't Axls thing. It was all handled by the label Best buy and they mess up booklet etc.
Voodoochild
Robin is Robin. Only Robin knows what Robin is doing. A Robin gotta do what a Robin gotta do.
Rose Cooper
there was no promotion due to the record label NOT wanting to use Axl's promotion he had in place. Fact. Source; Axl's mouth.
phaeryen
there was no promotion due to the record label NOT wanting to use Axl's promotion he had in place. Fact. Source; Axl's mouth. That's his insane version of what went down.He lets his imagination get the best of him - every time. This is how Axl handles his facts: he hears from someone that his manager is hitting on his girlfriend. which is a lie. but because it hurts him in a sensitive spot, he can't let it go.he rather has the guy fired and believes the rumor than goes with the fact.some odd 15 years later, said fired manager is re-hired because he is the one who could get albums out of the then-band, now axl & mercenaries. First, axl has a long talk with him about the girlfriend thing. 15+ years after the fact. but when the going gets rough. axl fires the manager again. because he couldn't let the girlfriend rumor go.that's the way he is. insane.so a fact coming out of axl's mouth. is not necessarily a fact the same way I see what a fact is. shotgunblues1978
The label completely stopped promoting the album (in the US) the moment it was released, and in all honesty that made sense; it was no longer their problem, it was Best Buy's. Best Buy did an absolutely horrible job of promoting the album themselves. And to be honest, Axl had every right to be pissed off at management/the label for the hatchet job they did with the album's release. Not in terms of promotion, but the fact that they put out an album with an unproofed "draft" booklet full of errors is pretty egregious given that there was a finalized, better version of the booklet ready to go (which most of us on this forum have seen). Axl had spent many years and a lot of money making a work of art that he had finally deemed ready for release to the public; the booklet was no doubt a piece of that in his mind and to have the wrong version of it released must have really pissed him off. The "real" booklet looks amazing, the artwork is great, the lyrics are correct, the album cover is better, etc. Add that in with the fact that Axl has never been that keen on speaking to media, doing interviews, etc. and there you have it in terms of why he didn't promote the album. Axl didn't want to play the promo game, no promo for album. He is the frontman and the singer, he has to do it for there to be some promotion. If Axl would have really wanted he could have had the real booklet there im sure, its just that he was more interested in NOT answering his goddamn phone when things were happening. that's what his "rebellion" has boiled down to. very, very childish and immature and unprofessional behavior. After the release fiasco, things have been looking up of course. But let's not try to change history.
