What a show.

Cool thing I remember - Axl giving it some killswitch on DJs last Civil War guitar solo

I was close to barrier from start to around November Rain but then I moved back to the sound desk. I thought on Paradise I'd give catching the mic a bash so moved into middle - GUTTED as it hit the guy next to me in the chest!!!! Don't know who got it - there was a scramble though! The guy it hit had no idea what happened - he thought someone tried to start a fight with him and punched him in the chest :rofl-lol: He calmed down a bit when I explained to him what happened.

Rosalie (Thin Lizzy) featured 4tus. They played Black Rose too which was pretty cool (bit of GNR trivia in that its the title track to an album cover Axl has tattooed on his arm)

Cracking video of Flower of Scotland. You can really hear everyone singing along :).

I know it's probably not that big of a deal to anyone else really, but I fired Ron an email with a link to that song earlier in the week saying, if you get a moment to noodle and want a great singalong then give this a shot... so when he actually pulled it out the bag it was a total "ohmygodohmygodOHMYGOD!" moment for me. I mean, how many people get a request played at a fucking Guns N Roses concert?! :D

There were loads of other amazing moments from Friday, Monty tugging on my kilt and having a great subsequent chat was awesome. It was brilliant just to be part of a hometown crowd! I'd a lovely chat with both Ron and Richard after the show, I now have all 3 guitarists' signatures. Del and Dizzy were very complimentary of my kilt as well. And of course, meeting up with Gillian and Conor was as much of a pleasure as it was in Dublin, love those guys to bits and I'm totally thrilled for them that they got to meet Axl! I missed him by about 40 minutes because I live out in Ayrshire and had to take a lift home when I could get one... But they didn't meet Dizzy, so although Axl's a much bigger deal we're still all technically on an even keel, having met 7/8 members of the band each ;)!

Absolutely amazing night! Can only hope they come back in less than 6 years!

That is amazing, you sure love this song over there don't you? I remember it being played all the time in Scotland, Glad you had a great time & met up with the others, Dizzy sounds like a nice guy, I saw a post his Mum put on a site somewhere ages ago & she sounded very proud of him.

What a show.

Haha that is too funny, if you'd grabbed at the mic he might have thought you punched him though :o Bummer you didn't get it after being so close.

Would have been funny to see DJ putting the plectrum on the security guy's head, wonder if someone captured it on film? lol

It's pretty much the National Anthem. Not legally granted that status for whatever reason, but I always thought it was when I was brought up... We were certainly told so in school.

Locherbread, right?!

Your last Glasgow bootleg's my favourite bootleg ever!! Awesome that you got this show as well!

Shitstorm a' brewing

^ STV've uploaded an absolutely awful review of the show to their website... Normally I wouldn't be thrilled to post about this, but loads of people have actually signed up to their website specifically to call the review a load of bullshit. I'd advise you give the review itself a miss and just read the comments because they're fantastic! I think it's indicative of the stance the press have taken towards GNR for years, that they think they can get away with some lazily written claptrap referencing Axl's "antics" and the band member situation and they think that constitutes a review that people want to read. Finally getting lambasted for the shite that it is. Good on you, people of Glasgow!

Wow, did Axl dump you or something? What a poorly written review (in grammar and content). You're going on about it being all about Axl, then whining about guitar solos being unnecessary, that makes no sense. Clearly you were in a wee huff about having to leave your mates in the pub and go to a gig. Dry your eyes. I'm not even a particularly big fan of GnR, but the gig was good fun and no-one with half a brain went to it with any illusions about getting to bed by 11. If you don't want to review gigs, get a new job, preferably one that you have the relevant skill set for.

:rofl-lol:

Graeme - it was amazing that Ron played your anthem for you. I know how much it meant to you. I had no idea what it was. I thought it was some mad soccer chant. I felt like i was the only one who wasn't screaming along!

Graeme it was an absoulute blast meeting yourself and Conor. It's so much fun going to these shows with other hardcore fans! Thanks for everything xx
