Not at all would be a good start. Axl has already tarnished the bands legacy with the new band and CD. No need to release more albums with them just to make it all worse.

Jackie Chan/The General is allegedly the same song

No it isnt. Jackie Chan has a 30 second leak (check it out on youtube)

and The General contains part of that orchestra intro they used on the 2006-2011 tours. Completely different. Besides Baz described The General as like "grinding doom metal" and Brain co-wrote it. Whereas Jackie Chan is an uptempo rock song.

Also Axl pretty much confirmed they were different on the chats back in 2008.

Don't care, I just want it all released except for the AFD sessions, that'd be pretty pointless

Agreed. But Axl apparently gave up on releasing the re-recorded AFD - he never mentioned it again. Not to mention that the only bit we've heard @ Big Daddy's SCOM version is weak - Robin's solo ain't good at all compared to what he does live imo and his takes on the old material aren't exactly mind blowing...

Well i just thought if you're gonna have a box set you might aswell throw in the re-recorded album, it'd be interesting to hear. I always thought the SCOM version was pretty kick ass!

Oh ya I know the intro is The General but i thought it did the rounds also known as 'Checkmate' and 'Jackie Chan' too, didn't realize there'd been a distinction between those two and the 30 second leak identified as 'Jackie Chan'.

Though it could easily have the 'EVERY CHANCE WAS GIVEEEEEEEN' part as well as the orchestral score, look at ChiDem's intro and how the track deviates for example.

They just recorded it to give the new guys a feel for the album since they were going to be playing the shit out of it for years to come, it would bring nothing but bad publicity to them if they put it out, pretty sure Axl knows that as good as anyone.

Half of the sweet child on big daddy isn't even the new band, up until the guitar solo it was all live old band except for Axl's overdubbed vocals

Gaaaah! I'm sick of these discussions and I just want the songs released! I don't care if they're dropped into the ocean and you have to have scuba gear to get them - just fucking release something already. God!

Does anyone else think Jackie Chan is a weird name for a song?

Half of me thinks Axl was just fucking with us when he gave us that song title name...

Jackie Chan sounds total Buckethead. He gave away for free a Bruce Lee track from his website.

I want multiple boxsets of everything Axl/GNR recorded in every form from 1997 onward, with a special focus on the stuff created by the Axl/Finck/Paul/Tommy/Josh Freese/Dizzy/Chris Pitman lineup. I want to hear some experimental wild stuff.
