But Axl apparently gave up on releasing the re-recorded AFD - he never mentioned it again. Not to mention that the only bit we've heard @ Big Daddy's SCOM version is weak - Robin's solo ain't good at all compared to what he does live imo and his takes on the old material aren't exactly mind blowing...They just recorded it to give the new guys a feel for the album since they were going to be playing the shit out of it for years to come, it would bring nothing but bad publicity to them if they put it out, pretty sure Axl knows that as good as anyone.Half of the sweet child on big daddy isn't even the new band, up until the guitar solo it was all live old band except for Axl's overdubbed vocalsBut this is exactly what I'm talking about. The Finck part is the wah bit after the solo (and the rest of the song) and it doesn't sound as good as his live renditions of the solo imo. If we were given this before Xmas it´d be a BLAST!! hope Axl´s got a little bit of misery for us. The BOX, the whole package, that´s a dream. Hell, have some live footage on it as well. Just release it all than start fresh. They can even keep a song or two from the box-set to use on the next album. It shouldn't be too hard to put finishing touches on material that is already pretty much done. Release that asap, and get this band in the studio for a new release next year. I honestly don't understand the reasoning behind this not happening yet. If it does have anything to do with the record company, fuck 'em, release it online.
