Woman arrested over Axl Rose jewels theft

To be honest she was probably extremely intoxicated when she stole them, which doesn't excuse it at all, but after sobering up and realizing how much they were worth and what kind of trouble she could get in, that's likely why she returned them. I've known a few girls who stole stuff from house parties when they were shitfaced and then returned them the next day, awkwardly... although it was usually trivial stuff, not $200,000 worth of jewelry.

Axl should be happy they were safely returned, because the chances of that happening were quite slim all things considered. A lot of people out there probably would have kept them. She was smart enough to return them, but not smart enough to do so anonymously.
A form of karma for giving a UK model agency exclusive access to a series of GN'R shows? At the expense of actual fans.

At the "expense" of actual fans? Was there some GN'R-tickets-for-wayward-models-fund people contributed to in the UK?

Ali
Ali, Ali, Ali,

I love Axl, he's a great guy, he's a great singer (even when he's not), he has the right to choose to have young models young enough to be his daughters at his concert if he so wishes to spend his money on them, it's his choice.

However he is male so he is NOT perfect. You seem happy to pay a high price to attend a concert, meet some of the guys backstage beforehand & have some non paying bimbo's (not all models are I know) getting prime position & meeting the band who they probably don't even know or care for.

I know he can't do wrong in your eyes, but this is karma. I think it stinks of course, it should never have happened.

Who knows why she handed the jewels back, maybe because it was going to be fairly easy to get caught - if she took them during the actual real concert she might have had more of a chance of getting away with it - who knows.

I like you defending him & in this case I agree, he hasn't done anything wrong. It's just that if it had to be anyone I'm glad it was a model and not a genuine fan.

A nice life lesson for Axl..7

Stop surrounding yourself with cheap models who couldn't give a fuck about yourself 50 year old ass

A better lesson would be to not allow anyone you don't know - fan, model or otherwise - around any valuables unsupervised.

Ali

A fan wouldn't steal though.

What? Being a fan doesn't preclude you from committing theft. I'm sure there are thieves out there that like various musical artists.

Ali

A fan would probably have enough respect for Axl and the fact that you were invited to his after party to not steal from him. At least I know I wouldn't.

I don't have a clue why but since there is a group of models travelling with said band perhaps this was a plant? Meaning maybe one of the other "jealous" girls decided to plant the stuff on this one which is why she had no idea and why she went to the police herself.

Just a thought, not to paint everyone with the same brush but sometimes girls jealosy get's best of them.

I had the opportunity to check out some of his jewelry back in '10, but when I got home I ddidn't have it with me :rofl-lol:

Orrrr, the girl took the stuff and then Axl flipped out, cops called, young girl starts getting scared and has to come up with a story - a weak story.

What in the hell were you attempting to do with your code there?

I wouldn't either, but the fact is there is no moral litmus test or background check required to be a fan of the band. You just need an appreciation for the music.

Perhaps its time to quit giving models priority........

I entirely agree. It is not about them being models, it is about how old they are.

If it is the case that a drunk, drugged out younger model has done this accidentally, and gets a criminal record because of this after handing in the swag to police within 48 hours, I would be very disappointed with GN'R and their invites for younger models at their concerts.

Let's see what happens

If it is the case that a drunk, drugged out younger model has done this

accidentally

What!?!?

Hehe, I have had 30 years of partying. I could tell you a story or two, especially items that have gone missing and turned up later on.

My uncle had a 2 million pound Chinese vase disappear because a cocktail had been made in it, and the drinkers decided to take the remnants of the cocktail home with them

2 million pound vase you say ........ Can i get an intro to your Uncle???

But seriously, I'm glad Axl got his necklaces back. I wonder if the 'models' will still be invited backstage after this....

Exactly a homeless person that's starving with nowhere to sleep is sure to hand back a celebrity's $200,000 jewels :D

Axl Rose can stop fuming now.

French police on Wednesday arrested a model in connection with the theft of gold necklaces and diamonds worth around $200,000. AFP reports that she was placed under formal arrest after she returned the items to a police station in central Paris.

She said she had attended a private concert with around 100 people after a public performance by the group at Bercy stadium and was not sure how she came to leave with jewelry

so any pics of the model chick who did this?

Got my things back (really just an excited fan.) Thank you to the person for returning them n' big thanks 2 the Paris police

He better prosecute and not let this person get off easily.

You just don't steal people's stuff period regardless of what it is or the value.

If she took them by mistake he would be a dick to prosecute. Doesn't seem like he's pissed anymore so I doubt it.

Obviously it sucks that anybody would steal something from the band, and it becomes a big deal when taking into consideration the value of the items in question ... not saying she should get away with no repercussions but the girl does deserve some respect for owning up and returning them to the police quickly. As for whether she took them willingly or someone slipped them in her bag, who the hell knows ...

Kudos to Axl for the cool tweet, he took it in stride, got his stuff back and all's well that ends well.

Clearly this is only a ploy to get her out of the safety of police custody before team Axl "disappears" her! ;)
