Does Axl get less shit thrown at him when he opens with Jungle as compared to opening with Chinese Democracy?

When Axl comes out late all is almost forgiven when he storms into Jungle. It's epic and the perfect opener. As someone said in the other thread, even the lyrics fit. Welcoming you to the Jungle. You know where you are!?

Yes I reckon so cos people are too busy going apeshit to think about throwing anything never mind being able to get a steady aim. CD lends itself perfectly to getting one right on the bullseye cos no fucker's moving around you so you can really get your eye in!

Funny I was just thinking maybe one of the reasons Axl opens with Democracy is so that if he has to stop the opener mid-song and not finish (which has happened) because of shit getting thrown at him, it's better that it happens during Democracy instead of Jungle :rofl-lol:

if i'm taking a piss or crap i know which song i'd rather miss lol

The song is kind of Axl's "getting warmed up" song. Sets the mood for "an evening with GNR".

Throwing shit from the audience in the dark is a pussy move. I actually think it's funnier when the entire audience flips the band off. If you're going to do it, make sure he saw you when you did it.

If you're going to heckle and fuck with someone performing, it's better to humiliate them than hurt them. An audience that doesn't react and stands there with arms crossed is more effective than throwing shit like a monkey. And some audience members have thrown shit at bands.

I'd love to see them open with "Coma" the next time Duff's at the show. "It's So Easy" is on my "perfect setlist" as the opener. WTTJ right off the bat is okay, but he should just do all of AFD if he's going to start off with that one.

Haha that would be typical. Because starting shows on time isn't badass.

Well if you look at some of those videos I've posted that's pretty much what most of the fans were doing for CD.

One guy standing emotionless with his arms crossed would have zero impact, if he even gets noticed at all. The only way for a single person to make an impact and get noticed is to throw something, unfortunately.

Probably wouldn't hurt.

But the real game changer would be learning the concept of respect, and at least make more of a sincere effort to be more punctual. Negative behavior leads to negative results. It's a catch 22.

At the Liverpool show, nothing was thrown during CD, but there was some throwing during WTTJ.

I guess they were probably mad that the show started late and they had to endure sitting through CD before the show really got underway with WTTJ.
