wasted
What is known about the Izzy song that Axl has or is interested in? Do you think it will be on CD 2?
Randy Lahey
I'm sort of expecting to hear it on CD II, as I believe Axl himself mentioned the song.

wasted
It seems like it will be the soundtrack to the Malibu Years.
Randy Lahey
Axl must be living the Two and a Half Men lifestyle when he's not on tour.
wasted
Nostalgia for the late 90s, early 00s.
Ana_1991
"He lives in a box down by the oceanDown off the main road by the hillTakes what he finds and eats it right thereMakes what he can with what he will"It may be this one...So Izzy got tired of waiting and puts it out on his own.. Randy Lahey
I was listening to a Faith No More Best Of yesterday and it reminded me a lot of CD. Edited June 25, 2012 by Randy Lahey

It's kind of just drums and keyboards/strings then a solo. Crack Hitler or Evidence is a bit like If The World. I think Andy Wallace produced FNM but he mixed CD?? That's the sound they went for maybe.
Randy Lahey
Strip Search reminds me of If The World on E. Edited June 25, 2012 by Randy Lahey
wasted
Stripsearch really showed they still had it on Album of the Year.Street of Dreams seems influenced by Everything's Ruined. the metallic edge to the song that I guess people down like so much. People preferred it campy.CD 2 needs to open with an From Out of Nowhere type song. Keyboards and drums high in the mix, a really clear vocal, simple lyrics. Silent Jay
Not the same song."There are 2 songs i co-wrote with an old friend of mine.... Timo Kaltia [guitarist/songwriter] He lives in UK, the songs are "Box" and "Seems To Me"... The writing started with those 2 songs and I took off from there." wasted
There's a quote somewhere with Izzy saying he didn't know nothing about whether they were going to use the song.
Randy Lahey
I'm guessing Down By The Ocean will be a Stones type rock and roll track that Axl has worked up into a post industrial Led Zeppelin song. wasted
I wonder if it's the Down by the Seaside of GNR. Axl must have some lyrics about tropical fish.
Randy Lahey
Axl probably figured ocean was more epic sounding than seaside. He's swimming with the sharks while the old folks go say-ling. Edited June 25, 2012 by Randy Lahey
wasted
I wonder if Axl has given it a psychedelic tune up.
Randy Lahey
GNR has always been more designer drug than psychedelic.
wasted
I just see Down by the Seaside as pyschedlics tinged. Malibu and coke might be the way to go.
ChineseDemocracy2004
I haven't listened to that song in quite some time.I haven't bought the rest of Izzy's material yet.I was going to download the rest of his albums from Amazon.co.uk but they aren't listed there anymore. If Down By The Ocean is indeed a GN'R I don't expect to hear it anytime soon. RandallFlagg
They should have performed it after 14 Years that night. Who knows what will ever see the light of day, we've got about ten - twenty unreleased track names, few 'legit' leaks of material and there's been aeons of time and member changes since those sessions, could be tons of new and altered stuff or Axl might have scrapped everything and just wants GNR to stay forever in the kingdom of Chinese Democracy.
